Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jose Sanchez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Talon Cape! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sanchez throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Cape waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Sanchez. Sanchez throws a right hand that Cape ducks under and follows up with a left that Cape also avoids with ease. Sanchez takes a swing at Cape's ribcage but misses. Cape gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Sanchez. Cape slips a jab and a cross from Sanchez.
Sanchez swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Cape closes the distance and pushes Sanchez back into the cage. Sanchez lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Cape is looking to get back to is feet but Sanchez passes into side control.
Cape really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sanchez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sanchez is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Cape has escaped the position, nice work there. Sanchez wants to control but Cape is keeping him busy. Sanchez is really struggling to control Cape but he's trying to hold on to the position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Cape can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sanchez tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Sanchez trying to control the position but Cape is working away. Sanchez working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Sanchez is trying to get an arm triangle but Cape is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Cape can't do much from the bottom here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cape wants to get back to his feet. Sanchez is looking to take a break and control but Cape is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cape tries to bench press Sanchez off him but Sanchez keeps the position. Cape looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Cape is not content to let Sanchez control the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Sanchez goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Cape throws a looping overhand right but Sanchez ducks down to avoid it. Sanchez throws a right and a left that Cape avoids nicely. Cape looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Cape moves into the clinch. Cape looks to throw an elbow but misses. Cape manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Cape lands a nice elbow from the clinch. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Cape scores a nice knee to the body.

That was a close round but I would say that Jose Sanchez will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Cape moves in looking to clinch but Sanchez pushes him off. A solid leg kick lands there for Cape.

Sanchez shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Sanchez stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Cape. Some wild striking there from Sanchez.

Sanchez throws a lazy head kick and Cape counters with a slapping leg kick. Cape drives through and clinches with Sanchez against the cage.
Sanchez is trying to pull guard but Cape has him pressed against the cage. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Cape takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. The crowd are getting on Cape's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch. Cape landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sanchez tries to pull guard but Cape forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Cape creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Sanchez's defenses. Cape lands an elbow that stopped Sanchez in his tracks for a moment.

Cape unloads a knee to the mid-section. Sanchez lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Cape lands a nice knee to the body. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Cape tries to land knees in the clinch but Sanchez avoids the damage to the body. Cape is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Talon Cape seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Talon Cape showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Jose Sanchez's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Sanchez goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Cape is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Nice shot lands for Cape. Sanchez swats away the attempt to clinch by Cape. Sanchez misses with a few strikes there.

Cape fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sanchez, pushing him back against the cage. Cape throws an elbow but it's blocked.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stalling in the clinch from Cape.
Cape is pressed up against the cage. Sanchez has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Cape down to the mat. Cape avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Cape tries to clinch up. Cape throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Cape lands with a thumping leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cape feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Sanchez's calf. Cape fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Sanchez has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. A head kick misses from Cape. Sanchez throws a nice looking combination but Cape bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Sanchez throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Cape doesn't manage to clinch there - Sanchez circles away.
Cape turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Cape tries to clinch but Sanchez is having none of it. Sanchez is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Cape blocks a head kick by Sanchez.

Sanchez jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Cape walks away with a smile on his face. Sanchez gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Cape tries a low kick but Sanchez avoids it. Sanchez scores with a leg kick.
Cape takes the fight into the clinch. Sanchez is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Cape is fighting it off but Sanchez persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Cape's guard against the cage. Sanchez tries to free his leg and advance position but Cape is retaining full guard. Sanchez wants to control from the top but Cape keeps moving.
And that's the end of the fight! Talon Cape comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Cape has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
