Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Terry Crew (ranked 1588 p4p, 199 weight class) and Ares Zylo (ranked 2271 p4p, 282 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Terry Crew! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ares Zylo! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Russell Pearce and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jab by Zylo. Zylo throws a lazy right hand but Crew sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Crew shoots for a double leg takedown but Zylo sprawls well. He's pushed Crew's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Zylo throws a lazy uppercut
and Crew counters with a nice double leg into side control. Zylo won't be happy with that. Crew tries for a kimura but Zylo is defending well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Zylo is looking to reverse the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Crew is looking to take a break and control but Zylo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. You can see the frustration on Zylo's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Crew wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Zylo, who protects the arm well. Crew looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's one minute gone in the round. Crew tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Crew has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Crew is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Zylo is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Crew working away. Zylo tries to bench press Crew off him but Crew keeps the position. Crew is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Zylo has escaped the position, nice work there. Zylo can't do much from the bottom here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Crew goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Zylo has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Crew but great work by Zylo. Zylo wants to stand but Crew is controlling his arm. Zylo tries to move to mount but Crew blocks the move with his legs. The ground and pound from Zylo seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Crew struggling a bit here. Zylo wants to control but Crew is keeping him busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Crew manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Zylo is looking for a sweep. Crew is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Zylo felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Crew seems to be looking for submissions.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Zylo is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Crew is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Zylo sees it coming and defends easily. Crew is trying to control. Zylo wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Crew is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Crew is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Zylo defends it well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Terry Crew dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Zylo throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Zylo lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Zylo pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Crew fails with the takedown. Crew tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Zylo swivels and escapes. A jab from Zylo finds it's way through Crew's defenses. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Crew is defended easily by Zylo. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Zylo! But no joy. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Terry Crew. That's going to take a lot out of him. Crew gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Zylo counters with a nice uppercut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Crew takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Crew looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Zylo is fending him off so far but Crew persists. Nope, Zylo circles away and we're back to standing. Crew misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Zylo connects with a looping right hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. A combination from Zylo does no damage. Crew fails to land the takedown. Crew with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Zylo to score with a decent uppercut. Zylo fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Crew takes a shot right to the bread basket. Crew looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Ares Zylo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Crew ducks right into an uppercut from Zylo. Crew manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Zylo on his heels. He'll look to pass Zylo's guard now, I'm sure. Zylo pulls Crew in close to prevent any damage. Crew works a leg free and moves into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Zylo tries to roll over but Crew keeps him under control. Crew is pressing down on Zylo's thigh, looking to free his foot. Zylo is holding on for now. Zylo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Crew. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Zylo tries to get to full guard but Crew has control of the leg. Crew is looking to advance position but Zylo won't allow it. Zylo has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Crew wants to control but Zylo is keeping him busy. Zylo missing with punches from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Crew trying to control the action but Zylo is working from the bottom. Crew is thwarting Zylo's attempts to control the position. The fighters are battling for position here. Zylo manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Crew forces his way into half guard. Zylo is looking to improve his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Crew with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Crew is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Zylo is forced to tap! Great finish!
