The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
OConnell throws a right hand that Miric ducks under and follows up with a left that Miric also avoids with ease.
OConnell moves out of range of the body kick.
Miric fakes high and swings low for a body shot but OConnell manages to avoid it.
Miric ducks under a wild hook from OConnell.

Miric swings widly with a right hand
enabling OConnell to counter with a crisp jab.
OConnell scores with a hook to the body. Miric takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
OConnell walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Miric slips under a jab.
Mitar Miric seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
OConnell avoids the body shot from Miric.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from OConnell.
Miric loads up on a big right hand but OConnell slips the punch.
Miric throws a body shot but no joy.
OConnell misses with an uppercut
and Miric counters with a slapping leg kick.
Miric rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and OConnell counters with a straight right hand.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts OConnell, as that shot connected.
That's one minute gone in the round.
OConnell is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Miric hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Paul OConnell!
