Coming up we have a lightweight kickboxing rules bout between Stevie Ray (ranked 8914 p4p, 641 weight class) and Alfonso Valdez (ranked 8290 p4p, 616 weight class). Valdez has chosen Believer - Imagine Dragons as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Stevie Ray! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alfonso Valdez! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Daniel Bishop and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Valdez gets a clinch. Ray lands with a left to the head. A frustrated look appears on Valdez's face as he tries to break the clinch. Ray throws a head punch that misses. Ray lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Valdez backwards. Valdez is trying to force a seperation but Ray has the dominant position. Valdez tries to break the clinch but Ray is controlling the position. Valdez tries to break free but Ray pushes him back against the ropes. Ray misses with some punches.
Valdez breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Valdez rushes Ray and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch. A head punch blocked on the inside by Valdez. Ray throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Valdezs head. Valdez has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Ray lands a right hand that snaps the head of Valdez backwards. Valdez can't break the clinch.
Ray misses with the head strike.
A short uppercut from Ray. Valdez wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Ray slowing the pace effectively. Ray throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Valdezs head. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ray has Valdez pressed against the ropes, preventing Valdez from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Ray swings away with an uppercut that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ray trying to control the position but instead, Valdez has worked for underhooks and has pushed Ray into the ropes. Ray misses with some punches.
Ray lands with a short head shot on the inside. Ray can't find room to land a body shot as Valdez controls the action.
Ray has Valdez pressed against the ropes, preventing Valdez from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Ray is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the ropes. Valdez escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Valdez has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Ray throws a hook but Valdez avoids it easily. Valdez has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Ray. Ray looks to score with a jab to the body but Valdez is just out of range. Ray misses with a hook. Valdez doesn't manage to clinch there - Ray circles away.
Ray closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes. Valdez pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Ray swats away the attempt to clinch by Valdez. Ray throws an overhand right that lands on Valdez's shoulder, as Valdez tries to avoid the shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A punch combination from Ray misses. Valdez on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Ray cracks Valdez with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Ray throws a body shot but no joy. This has been an exciting period of action! Ray throws a nice inside leg kick. Ray with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Ray misses with a looping left. Valdez moves in looking to clinch but Ray pushes him off. Ray slips under a jab from Valdez. As Valdez looks to move away, Ray throws a big counter combo but Valdez just gets out of the way. Valdez jabbing away but nothing is landing. Ray tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Valdez manages to circle out of the way. Valdez rushes Ray and presses him up against the ropes. Ray lands a shot to the body. Valdez breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Valdez tries to clinch up and Ray counters with a left and a right that stings Valdez. Valdez tries to clinch but Ray moves out of range. Valdez takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Stevie Ray dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Valdez tries to keep at a distance but Ray has taken the fight into the clinch. Valdez is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes. Ray is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Valdez can do to turn this around? Ray fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Ray bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ray cracks Valdez with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Valdez gets a clinch. A short right from Ray on the inside. Ray is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Still in the clinch, Ray scores with a nice short uppercut. Ray just leaning against Valdez, taking a breather.
That's one minute gone in the round. A short uppercut from Ray. Ray lands a left hand that snaps the head of Valdez backwards. Ray tries to work over Valdez's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Valdez manages to break the clinch.

Ray moves into range and clinches up with Valdez. Ray lands on the inside with an uppercut. Ray stalling in the clinch but Valdez improves position. A head punch on the inside from Ray fails to land. Ray lands with a light punch inside. Valdez looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Valdez is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes. Ray misses with the head strike.

and Ray counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Valdez tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ray swats him away and circles back towards the center. Ray connects with a nice looking jab.
Ray uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Valdez. Valdez pushes Ray up against the ropes in a clinch. Ray swings wildly with an uppercut but Valdez uses good head movement to avoid it. Valdez blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Valdez is looking to break free of the clinch but Ray has double underhooks. Ray stalling in the clinch but Valdez improves position. Valdez is trying to break free. Valdez pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nice shot lands for Ray. A cross from Ray lands. Ray doesn't manage to clinch there - Valdez circles away.
A telegraphed right hand from Valdez misses the target. Good leg kick by Ray there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Ray tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Ray creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Alfonso Valdez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! A short right hand to the side of the head by Ray. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Ray. Ray working some nice short punches in the clinch. Valdez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Ray makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Ray just leaning against Valdez, taking a breather. Ray breaks the clinch momentarily and cracks Valdez with a big right hook that drops him to the canvas! Valdez looks like he might be in big trouble here! The referee has started the count straight away and we're up to 5 already. Valdez get to one knee - can he make it back to his feet? No, he's flopped back to the mat - he's out - this one is all over!
