PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Quinton Randleman (ranked 1164 p4p, 124 weight class) and Wanderson Siliva (ranked 2266 p4p, 240 weight class). Siliva has chosen Sunshines BAR GRILL & LOUNGE PINNEYS BEACH as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Quinton Randleman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Wanderson Siliva!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Patrick Alders and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Randleman is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Siliva gets tackled into the cage by Randleman. Randleman maintains the clinch.
Randleman works on Siliva's body with a couple of short punches.
Randleman lands a shoulder strike.
Siliva fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Siliva jumps guard but Randleman turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Randleman throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Silivas head.

Siliva tries to clinch but Randleman moves away

and Randleman counters with a takedown into side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Randleman has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Randleman has the hooks in. Siliva is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Randleman is punishing Siliva with some ground and pound.
Randleman keeps control of the position easily here as Siliva tries to buck him off.

Siliva shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Randleman decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Siliva's guard.
Randleman is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Siliva has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Jako Gym. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Siliva is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Randleman defends well.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Randleman here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Siliva has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Randleman is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Siliva.

Randleman looks up at the clock and then as Siliva takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Randleman smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Randleman is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Siliva will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

The referee asks Randleman politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Randleman prefers to stall for the moment though.

Quinton Randleman overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Siliva tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Randleman manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Siliva has his takedown stuffed
and Randleman counters with a series of strikes. Siliva will be more careful next time no doubt.
Randleman seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Randleman fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Quinton Randleman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wanderson Siliva.

Randleman is working Siliva over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Siliva working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Randleman doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Randleman manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Randleman is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Siliva has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Randleman is looking to defend but Siliva has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Randleman! Siliva pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Randleman taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Wanderson Siliva!
An out of breath Wanderson Siliva thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
In defeat, Quinton Randleman stepped up to the mic, saying 'Really? i dident loose. everybody knows that. the judges got paid.'.
