Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Leandro Rodrigues and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ngannou swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Banes counters with a good low kick that Ngannou was not able to check.
Banes seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Banes avoids a punch combination nicely.
Banes was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Banes tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ngannou paws at him with a jab and circles away.
As Banes backs off Ngannou throws a huge counter combo but Banes manages to avoid it all.
Ngannou has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Banes cracks Ngannou with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Ngannou tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Banes pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Ngannou is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Cobb Banes!
After winning the bout, Cobb Banes thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
