PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dick Caunt (ranked 1570 p4p, 152 weight class) and Mark Tyme (ranked 2000 p4p, 189 weight class). Tyme comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Here Comes The Money kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dick Caunt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark Tyme !
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Roger Salmon and Colin Fray.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tyme throws a leg kick
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Tyme throws a shot from downtown. Caunt moves away and avoids it.
As Tyme backs away, Caunt returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Tyme throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Caunt was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Caunt lands with an overhand left.
Tyme lands with a thumping leg kick.
Caunt darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Tyme throws a right hand that Caunt ducks under and follows up with a left that Caunt also avoids with ease.
Caunt throwing a counter right hand but Tyme manages to avoid it.
A low kick from Tyme is predictable there
and Caunt counters with a good low kick that Tyme was not able to check.
Caunt just misses with a punch to the body.
Tyme looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Tyme tries to clinch but Caunt moves out of range.
Tyme has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Caunt finds it's way round the side to connect with Tyme 's head.

Caunt rushes Tyme and presses him up against the cage.
Caunt lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Tyme backwards.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Caunt lands a hook that snaps the head of Tyme backwards.

Caunt escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Caunt fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tyme tries to clinch there but Caunt circles away.
Caunt stuffs the takedown attempt from Tyme . Tyme gets slowly back to his feet.
Caunt throws a quick counter kick to the body but Tyme avoids it.
Caunt moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
A low kick from Tyme misses
and Caunt counters with a nice body kick.
Tyme misses with a right hand
and Caunt counters with a body kick.

Caunt instigates a clinch.
Tyme tries to pull guard but Caunt forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Tyme blocks a body shot from Caunt.
Caunt tries to throw a body punch but Tyme avoids it by throwing Caunt back against the cage.

Caunt breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Caunt looks to land a combination. Tyme sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Tyme is rocked!

It looks like Mark Tyme has been cut.
Caunt closes the distance and lands a brutal uppercut that knocks Tyme out! We're looking at the replay now - he was out before he hit the floor!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Dick Caunt!
Dick Caunt was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
