The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thai is looking to clinch but Lermontov is avoiding it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Thai looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Lermontov waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Thai.
Thai tries to close the distance and clinch but Lermontov swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A quick step to the side and Lermontov tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Thai tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Thai connects with an inside leg kick.
Thai swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Lermontov counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Thai tries to grapple but his opponent circles
letting Lermontov counter with a right hand.
Thai lands a right hook to the body.
Thai throws a sloppy head kick and Lermontov moves out of range easily.
Thai has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lermontov moves into range and clinches up with Thai.
Thai misses with a knee strike.
Thai with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Lermontov misses with a body punch.
Lermontov lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Thai is trying to maintain a safe position but Lermontov gets an underhook and turns Thai into the cage.

Aie Thai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Lermontov counters with a big right hand! Oh Thai is in trouble here! Lermontov follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
