Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tyrion Lannister (ranked 1800 p4p, 96 weight class) and Josh Turner (ranked 786 p4p, 40 weight class). Lannister's entrance music is Game Of Thrones. A fine choice. Turner has chosen Next Episode by Dr. Dre as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tyrion Lannister!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Josh Turner!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Richard Clark and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turner scores with a decent looking hook.
Lannister walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
We've been informed that Turner has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Turner throws a big shot that misses.
Lannister ducks under a wild hook from Turner.
Turner throws the left hand but Lannister avoids the punch easily.

Lannister has closed the distance and engaged Turner in a clinch.
Lannister lands an uppercut.
Lannister slowing the pace effectively.

Turner successfully pulls guard.
Turner looking for a sweep. Not yet Turner, not yet.
Lannister wants to control from the top but Turner keeps moving.
Lannister loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Turner escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lannister gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Lannister throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Turner works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Turner is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Lannister working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Lannister content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Lannister is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Lannister pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Turner is keeping the position for now.
Lannister is working hard here to advance position.

Lannister's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Turner tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Turner controls Lannister momentarily but Lannister frees himself.
Lannister trying to control the position from guard on top but Turner is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lannister has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Lannister got a little sloppy there for a moment and Turner has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lannister has managed to get both his arms back between Turner's legs - danger averted.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Turner misses with a looping left.

Turner lands the left hand.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lannister motions for Turner to come forward. Lannister throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Lannister uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Turner.
Lannister uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Turner.
Good leg kick by Lannister there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Turner avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Turner misses with a double jab.
Turner scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
A punch lands to the side of Turner 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Turner lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

and Lannister counters by clinching up.
Turner tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Lannister tries for a takedown but Turner manages to get underhooks.
Turner is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Turner has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Lannister uses from the top position.

Turner looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Turner looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lannister's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Turner has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Lannister has passed into side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Turner tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Lannister is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Turner has escaped the position, nice work there.
Turner is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Lannister working the ground and pound.
Lannister lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Turner down.
Lannister is looking to take a break and control but Turner is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Josh Turner will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!



Lannister feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Turner is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Lannister's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Lannister! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Turner has tapped! This one is allllll over!
