Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Samuel Cooke (ranked 816 p4p, 105 weight class) and Osiris Egyptian (ranked 1922 p4p, 217 weight class). Cooke comes to the cage accompanied by Harm's Way - Warriors Will Reign. Samuel Cooke has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Samuel Cooke!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Osiris Egyptian!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Tarja Halkonen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cooke throws a push kick but Egyptian slaps the foot to one side.
Egyptian is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Cooke scores with a nice right hand.
Cooke is looking to land body kicks.
Egyptian turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Cooke misses with a body shot.
Egyptian is looking for the big counter here.
Egyptian lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Egyptian scores with a sloppy right hand. Cooke should have avoided that one.

Egyptian has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Cooke throws an off balance right hand
and Egyptian counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Cooke tries to close the distance and clinch up but Egyptian swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Egyptian avoids a kick to the body.

and Egyptian makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Cooke throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Egyptian is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Cooke with a body shot.
Egyptian defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Cooke.
Egyptian unleashes a big counter combination but Cooke bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Cooke connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Egyptian tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Cooke is able to avoid easily.

Cooke misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Egyptian lands a nice leg kick that just misses Cooke's sensitive parts.
Cooke looks to land a combination but Egyptian avoids it well.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Cooke fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Egyptian stuffs the takedown attempt from Cooke. Cooke gets slowly back to his feet.

Cooke throws a series of strikes that have Egyptian backpedaling.
Cooke scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Egyptian checks the leg kick.
Egyptian feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Cookes jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Egyptian cracks the inside of Cooke's front leg.
Cooke tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

A head kick misses from Cooke.
Egyptian ducks under a wild hook from Cooke.
Egyptian appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
That kick from Egyptian tenderised Cooke's leg. Cooke is trying to keep his angry face on.
Egyptian walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Egyptian ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cooke moves away.
Egyptian throws a leg kick that is checked
and Cooke counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Egyptian throws a left and a right that both miss

and Cooke counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Cooke perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Cooke throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Egyptian is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Cooke wants to control but Egyptian is keeping him busy.
Egyptian is trying is best to control the position here.
Cooke has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Cooke looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Egyptian with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Egyptian is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Samuel Cooke will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Egyptian takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
No luck for Cooke with that takedown attempt.

Egyptian chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Cooke can pounce on him.

Egyptian cracks Cooke with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Egyptian moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Osiris Egyptian seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Cooke shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Egyptian lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Egyptian got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cooke has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Egyptian has managed to get both his arms back between Cooke's legs - danger averted.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Cooke lands a really nice looking cross but Egyptian seems unphased.
Egyptian lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Cooke at a distance.

A close second round but Osiris Egyptian will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Cooke uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Egyptian has time to react.

A punch lands to the side of Cooke 's head but he takes it in his stride.

and Egyptian counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Cooke shoots for a double leg takedown but Egyptian sprawls well. He's pushed Cooke's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

We've been told by Cooke's head coaches at Marty Robbin's Fight Ranch™ that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Egyptian throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
A looping hook to the body misses from Egyptian. Cooke does a little dance to reset his feet.
Cooke motions for Egyptian to come forward. Cooke throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Egyptian swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Cooke is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Egyptian stuns Cooke with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Cooke shoots in looking for a takedown. Egyptian tries to sprawl out of it but Cooke keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Egyptian manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Cooke on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Egyptian misses with a lunging right hand
and Cooke connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Egyptian throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Egyptian looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Egyptian tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Cooke was well out of range. Poor timing from Egyptian.
Egyptian goes for a high kick. It partially lands.


Cooke is rocked!

Egyptian punishes Cooke's body with a nice straight punch.
Oh Cooke is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Cooke closes the distance and clinches up with Egyptian, looking for a takedown. Cooke pushes Egyptian against the cage but Egyptian circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Samuel Cooke. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Egyptian counters with a nice low kick that buckles Cooke's knee momentarily.
Cooke gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Egyptian gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:19 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Osiris Egyptian!
Osiris Egyptian is the new lightweight champion!
Osiris Egyptian decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
