The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fury shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Lono counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Fury tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Lono defends well and Fury ends up having to push Lono into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Oro Lono has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Drake Fury.

Fury tries to advance to mount but Lono denies him.

Fury wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Lono, who protects the arm well.
Lono tries to improve position but can't.
Fury wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lono keeps working.
Fury has an Americana. Lono didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Fury is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Fury hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Drake Fury!
Drake Fury is the new heavyweight champion!
Drake Fury decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
