PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mortimer Bob Holley (ranked 3163 p4p, 119 weight class) and Mark Lesnar (ranked 3011 p4p, 112 weight class). Holley comes to the cage accompanied by Grillmasters - Sizzling. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Mark Lesnar was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mark Lesnar!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, David Hoff and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Holley. Lesnar does a little dance to reset his feet.
Lesnar with the counter takedown but Holley avoids it easily.
Holley keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Holley misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Lesnar.
Lesnar takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Holley lands a nice hook to Lesnar's body. Lesnar takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Lesnar drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Holley defends it well.
Lesnar takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Holley swings for the body but Lesnar moves out of range.
Lesnar looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Holley misses with a straight right.
Holley ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lesnar moves away.
Holley lands a jab to Lesnar's midsection.

Holley breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Holley definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Holley wants to control but Lesnar is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Lesnar landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Still in half guard, Lesnar seems content to control.

Lesnar is nestled in close to Holley, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Lesnar thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Lesnar looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Holley with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Holley is looking to control Lesnar's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Holley avoid being mounted?
Lesnar seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Well, if Lesnar is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Holley wants to improve his position but Lesnar is controlling well.
Lesnar lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Lesnar connects with a nice short shot to Holley's temple.
Holley is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Lesnar scores with a couple of nice shots.
Lesnar looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Lesnar has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Lesnar dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Holley cracks Lesnar with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Holley looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lesnar is one step ahead there.

Lesnar lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Lesnar has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Holley is trying to control but Lesnar manages to pass to mount!

Lesnar lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Holley hang on?


It looks like Mortimer Bob Holley has been cut.
Lesnar is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Holley goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Lesnar!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Mark Lesnar!
After the fight, Mark Lesnar was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
The defeated Mortimer Bob Holley had this to say: 'You won, because i havent eaten enough.. im starving! Hi mom!'.
