Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rhicky Whysocki (ranked 23416 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christian Neffgen (ranked 5764 p4p, 0 weight class). Christian Neffgen is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Christian Neffgen!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Hirohito Nitta and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Neffgen with a lazy takedown attempt

and Whysocki counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Whysocki is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Whysocki's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Whysocki seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Neffgen for as long as he can get away with.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Whysocki is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Neffgen can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Whysocki controls the pace.

Neffgen is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Whysocki is taking a breather. Neffgen says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Neffgen gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Whysocki.
Whysocki fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Neffgen checks it well.
Neffgen takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Whysocki is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Neffgen can do to turn this around?
If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Whysocki is stinking the place up with his stalling.
Whysocki is pressing down on Neffgen's thigh, looking to free his foot. Neffgen is holding on for now.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Whysocki lands a really nice looking cross but Neffgen seems unphased.
Whysocki displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Neffgen.

Whysocki throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Neffgen tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Whysocki is in Neffgen's guard.
Whysocki is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Whysocki shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Whysocki shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Neffgen's guard.
Neffgen wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Whysocki manages to pass to side control.
Neffgen takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
