Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jon Snitch (ranked 2919 p4p, 335 weight class) and Charles Hawtry (ranked 2667 p4p, 308 weight class). Hawtry has chosen The Rain as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Jon Snitch! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Charles Hawtry! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Snitch throws out a powerful jab. Hawtry moves away from the strike by Snitch. Snitch forces Hawtry back against the cage and clinches. Hawtry looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Hawtry tries to pull guard but Snitch forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Hawtry letting Snitch take a breather here. Snitch is stalling here.
Snitch seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression. Snitch effectively controlling the action here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Snitch dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hawtry gets control of Snitch's arms and successfully pulls guard. Hawtry will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Snitch stays in close to Hawtry's body and controls the position. Hawtry controls Snitch momentarily but Snitch frees himself. Hawtry is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Snitch is stalling in the full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hawtry lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hawtry trying to control the position from guard on top but Snitch is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hawtry throwing strikes from guard but Snitch blocks nicely. Hawtry trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Hawtry stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Snitch swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hawtry is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. It looks like Hawtry might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Hawtry in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Hawtry wants to control from the top but Snitch keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Snitch is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hawtry postures up in Snitch's guard and throws a big left but Snitch blocks it. Snitch has Hawtry pulled in close to control his posture. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Hawtry trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Hawtry won't allow Snitch to get back to his feet.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Hawtry on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Snitch bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Snitch fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Snitch misses with a low kick. Hawtry jabbing away but nothing is landing. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Snitch, as that shot connected.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hawtry swings widly with a right hand
and Snitch connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Snitch slips under a jab. Snitch feinted with a counter takedown. Snitch drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hawtry is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Snitch defends well. Snitch avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Hawtry wants to sweep here but Snitch controlling him for the moment. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Snitch postures up.

Jon Snitch dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Hawtry throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Snitch is working for takedown but Hawtry is calmly controlling the position for now. Hawtry prevents the takedown attempt.
Hawtry ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Hawtry no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Snitch has picked Hawtry up and slammed him! Hawtry can't keep hold of the triangle and Snitch manages to pass to side control! Hawtry tries to bench press Snitch off him but Snitch keeps the position. You can see the frustration on Hawtry's face as Snitch controls the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hawtry struggling a bit here. Snitch content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. A control attempt from Hawtry but he's now mounted! Hawtry is in all sorts of trouble here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Snitch controlling the position easily from mount. Hawtry working to try and regain half guard.
Hawtry is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Snitch takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Hawtry is looking to get to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Snitch content just to control the position here. Snitch wants to control the pace but Hawtry is squirming around nicely. Snitch looking to control and managing it successfully. Hawtry has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Hawtry is looking to improve his position but Snitch isn't that keen on the idea. Hawtry flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Snitch is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hawtry can do to turn this around? Snitch controlling the pace for now. Snitch seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hawtry for as long as he can get away with.

God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Snitch takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Snitch prevents Hawtry from getting the reversal. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hawtry tries to work over Snitch's front leg with a kick but Snitch checks it. Hawtry misses with an uppercut. Snitch saw that one coming. Hawtry getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Hawtry scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Charles Hawtry seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hawtry looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Snitch scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Snitch fails in his attempt to clinch. We've been told by Snitch's head coaches at Blackscar Fitness that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Snitch drives through with a takedown into Hawtry's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hawtry looking to control.
Hawtry wants to control the position but Snitch says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Snitch wants to pass the guard but Hawtry is defending well. Hawtry wants to get back to full guard. Hawtry looking for submissions off his back.

Snitch is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Hawtry has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Snitch is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Hawtry. Jon Snitch is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Hawtry is not content to let Snitch control the position. Hawtry is looking for a sweep. You can see the frustration on Hawtry's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Snitch controls the position. Hawtry looking for a sweep but Snitch has passed into full mount! Oh no! Snitch content just to control the position here.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hawtry has decided that throwing punches whilst being mounted is the best he can manage just now.
And that's the end of the fight! Jon Snitch showed his dominance in that final round. Well Snitch has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
