PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcellus Clay (ranked 1182 p4p, 51 weight class) and Antonio Montana (ranked 956 p4p, 23 weight class). Montana has chosen Push it to the Limit as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcellus Clay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Antonio Montana!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Steven Brown and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clay just misses with a punch to the body.
Montana tries to clinch up
and Clay counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Montana jumps into guard, dragging Clay to the mat.

Clay controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Clay accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Montana bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Clay's guard.

Clay not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Clay working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Montana doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Montana manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Clay is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Montana stands up over Clay, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Clay escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Montana gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Clay has momentary wrist control but Montana slips an elbow through the middle.

Clay has his foot on Montana's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Montana works his way back into a safe position though.

Clay is rocked!

Clay is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Oh Clay is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Montana postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Clay covers up, he's hurt! Montana keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Montana and the ref steps in to end the fight! Montana can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Antonio Montana!
Antonio Montana really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that XFighter Clothing logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
Marcellus Clay was interviewed post fight and said 'Very confident'.
