Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Keith Callaway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Hall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Callaway comes to the cage accompanied by Saliva-click click boom. Keith Callaway has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Keith Callaway!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Scott Hall!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Anni Minnemäki and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hall tries to clinch but Callaway moves out of range.
Callaway keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
A cross from Callaway lands.


It looks like Scott Hall has been cut.
Hall changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Callaway tries to avoid it but Hall manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Callaway to the ground. Callaway escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Callaway throws a right and a left that both miss.
A lazy left from Callaway finds it's target.
Callaway shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Hall avoids the head kick by Callaway.
Hall should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Callaway throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Hall looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Callaway is fending him off so far but Hall persists. Nope, Callaway circles away and we're back to standing.
Keith Callaway has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Scott Hall.
Callaway fails to land with a series of punches.
Callaway tries to clinch but Hall moves out of range.

Hall gets the takedown into side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hall wants to control but Callaway is keeping him busy.
You can see the frustration on Callaway's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Callaway manages to work his way to half guard, despite Hall's best efforts.

Callaway is controlling Hall's trapped leg to prevent Hall from advancing to side control.

Callaway is staying active underneath Hall, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Callaway is looking to control Hall's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Callaway avoid being mounted?
Hall looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Callaway has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hall is working away from the top position though.
Callaway is breathing heavily.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Hall wants to free his trapped foot but Callaway is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Hall cracks Callaway with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Callaway tries to lock up and control but Hall gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Callaway is working to get back to half guard.
Hall controlling the pace for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Keith Callaway will probably get the nod.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Callaway takes a kick to the side of the head.
Hall showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Callaway.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hall looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Hall throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Hall has closed the distance and engaged Callaway in a clinch.

Callaway wants the takedown. Hall is fighting it off but Callaway persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Hall's guard against the cage.

Hall postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Callaway looks a forlorn figure.

Hall tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Hall avoids the attempt from Callaway to control.
Callaway is squirming around, avoiding Hall's attempts to control the action.

Callaway is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Hall is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Callaway just trying to survive but Hall is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Scott Hall showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Hall swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Callaway.

Callaway moves into the clinch successfully.
Hall avoids the elbow strike from Callaway, against the cage.
Hall connects with a nasty looking knee right to Callaway's face.
Callaway wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Hall has him pressed against the cage.
Hall is working Callaway over against the cage.
Callaway fails to pull guard.
Callaway can't break the clinch.

Hall pulls Callaway into guard.
Hall preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Callaway drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hall manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Callaway has Hall in his guard.
Hall is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Callaway throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Hall is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Well, if Hall is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Hall wants to get back to his feet.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Hall in particular looking to stall.
Callaway is trying to control but can't.

Hall sitting and controlling from the half guard.

Callaway looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Callaway trying to control but Hall postures up.
Hall wants to take a breather but Callaway is having none of it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Hall is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Callaway is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Hall breaks from Callaway's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Callaway wants to control but Hall is having none of it.
Callaway working to try and regain half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Callaway tries to lock up and control but Hall gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

And that's the end of the fight!
Scott Hall comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Hall has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
