PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Alistair Overoid (ranked 8911 p4p, 123 weight class) and Loa Kobula (ranked 23218 p4p, 142 weight class). Overoid comes to the ring accompanied by Sensation Anthem 2004. The key to victory for Alistair Overoid has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Alistair Overoid!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Loa Kobula!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Steven Brown and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Overoid fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Kobula looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Kobula scores with a head kick. Overoid tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Overoid scores with a decent looking hook.


It looks like Loa Kobula has been cut.
Overoid cracks Kobula with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Overoid drops a shoulder and throws a biiiig uppercut that drops Kobula onto his butt! Kobula pops straight back to his feet to convince the referee that he's OK to continue.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Overoid connects with a solid leg kick.
Kobula scores with a shot to the body.

Kobula closes the distance and clinches.
Overoid dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the ropes.
Kobula is trying to push Overoid away but Overoid has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere.
Overoid is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the ropes.
Kobula wants to break free but Overoid has control.

Kobula misses with some punches.
Overoid doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Kobula is trying to stall.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Overoid taking a breather.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Overoid seems a little flustered. He's come in with the intention of controlling the clinch but Kobula is preventing him from doing so, at least for the moment.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Alistair Overoid.

Kobula gets tackled into the ropes by Overoid. Overoid maintains the clinch.
Kobula goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
A battle for position here, against the ropes.
Overoid keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Kobula's efforts to push away.

The cut man is working on Loa Kobula's cut.
That's time! Overoid's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


A swing and a miss from Overoid.
Overoid sets himself, and Kobula steps forward looking for the clinch! Overoid avoids it this time.
Kobula drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Kobula clips Overoid with a right and a left that makes him do the chicken dance for a couple of seconds. He touched his left hand down on the canvas so the referee steps between the fighters to give Overoid a standing 8 count before we can continue the bout.


It looks like Alistair Overoid has been cut.
Overoid throws a looping overhand right but Kobula ducks down to avoid it.

Overoid has Kobula up against the ropes in a clinch.
Kobula using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Overoid has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Overoid is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kobula can do to turn this around?
Kobula stalling.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kobula is trying to force a seperation but Overoid has the dominant position.
Kobula can't find room to land a body shot as Overoid controls the action.

Overoid prevents a body shot from Kobula.
Overoid looking to stall.

Overoid taking a breather.
Kobula wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Overoid has him pressed against the ropes.
Kobula tries to land knees in the clinch but Overoid avoids the damage to the body.
Overoid doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Overoid is trying to maintain a safe position but Kobula gets an underhook and turns Overoid into the ropes.
Overoid taking a breather.
Kobula stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Kobula wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Overoid avoiding damage as Kobula throws knees to the body.
Overoid is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Overoid lands with a short shot to the head.


That has opened up Loa Kobula's cut even more.
Kobula is pushing Overoid up against the ropes, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Overoid taking a breather.

Kobula escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Overoid lands with a right hand.
Kobula takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Kobula moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.


The cut above Loa Kobula's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Kobula throws a head kick but Overoid moves out of range.
Overoid tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Overoid lands a glancing blow to the side of Kobula's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Loa Kobula takes that one, thanks to the knockdown.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Kobula needs to keep his hands up - Overoid had a free shot at his head there.

Overoid moves into range and clinches up with Kobula.

Kobula is persisting with his attempts to control the action in the clinch, rather than do any real damage.

Overoid can't seem to implement his control oriented gameplan at the moment. That's no bad thing of course, for those of us who want to see a good fight.

Overoid avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Overoid is looking to counter punch.

Overoid lands with a straight right. Kobula didn't see that one coming.
Kobula tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Overoid paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Overoid lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Loa Kobula is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A bone on bone clash there as Kobula blocks the leg kick.
Kobula tries to clinch but Overoid is having none of it.
Alistair Overoid seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Overoid moves in looking to clinch but Kobula pushes him off.
Kobula needs to keep his hands up - Overoid had a free shot at his head there.


Loa Kobula's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Overoid scores with a sloppy right hand. Kobula should have avoided that one.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Loa Kobula's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:37 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Alistair Overoid!
