Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Captain Gonza (ranked 301 p4p, 29 weight class) and Jack Potter (ranked 487 p4p, 48 weight class). Gonza comes to the cage accompanied by Mononoke Hime. Potter has chosen THE LION SLEEPS TONIGHT as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Potter!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Johanna Lukiainen and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A kick lands to the mid section there for Potter.
Gonza thows a left - swing and a miss!
Potter moves away from the strike by Gonza.
Potter scores with a nice head shot.
It looks like Captain Gonza has been cut.
Potter misses with a body kick.
Gonza misses with a hook. Potter ducked under it nicely.
Gonza throws a leg kick but Potter checks it.
Gonza avoids the body shot from Potter.
Potter throws a body kick that misses.
Gonza jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Gonza wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Captain Gonza seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gonza turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Gonza fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Potter steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Gonza.
Gonza is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Potter.
Gonza bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Potter on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Gonza feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Potter's calf.
Gonza swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Potter lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Potter misses with an uppercut.
Gonza connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Potter throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Gonza on the side of the head.

Gonza lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Gonza lands with a shot to the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Potter tries to land a front kick but Gonza steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Potter keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Gonza uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Potter has time to react.

Potter throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.

Gonza walks into a left hand.
Gonza throws a lazy right hand but Potter sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Gonza tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Potter was well out of range. Poor timing from Gonza.
Potter is looking to chop away at Gonza's legs.
Gonza cracks Potter with a right hand to the side of the head.
Potter with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Potter closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Gonza tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Potter manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Gonza cracks a nice hook into Potter's ribs.
Gonza wants to clinch up but Potter keeps it at a distance.
Potter blocks a jab.
Potter only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Gonza's corner calls for a 1-2. Gonza obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Potter throws a body kick that misses.
Potter blocks a leg kick.
Gonza connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Potter takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Gonza just misses with a punch to the body.
A solid leg kick lands there for Gonza.
Potter feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Gonza's calf.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
A slow jab from Gonza misses its intended target.
Gonza scores with a punch to the head.
Gonza darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
A head kick misses from Potter.
Potter on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Potter looks to score with a jab to the body but Gonza is just out of range.
Gonza is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Gonza misses the jab.
Gonza throws a shot from downtown. Potter moves away and avoids it.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Potter lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Gonza has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Gonza and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Gonza fires out a quick counter leg kick but Potter just manages to avoid it.
Gonza connects with a body shot that sends Potter's belly button to the back.
Gonza is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
A shot to the body from Gonza misses
and Potter counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Potter walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Gonza checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Gonza swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Potter takes one to the chin there.
Gonza throws a body shot but no joy.
Potter fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Gonza checks it well.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Potter moves out of range of the strikes.
Gonza tries to clinch up but Potter circles away and keeps his distance.
Gonza ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Potter moves away.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Potter throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Good standup being displayed there by Gonza as he connects with a hook.
Gonza tries to score with a low kick but Potter moves his leg out of the way.
Potter takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Gonza takes a kick to the side of the head.

Potter throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Potter throws a front kick that sends Gonza stumbling back into the cage.

Gonza motions for Potter to come forward. Gonza throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Gonza keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Potter lands a head kick!
A slow jab from Gonza misses its intended target.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Gonza wants to slow Potter down by chopping away at his legs.
Potter looks for the body kick but Gonza saw that one coming.
Potter ducks under a wild hook from Gonza.
Potter lands a big head kick that sends Gonza tumbling to the mat! Potter takes a step backwards and waves Gonza back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Gonza is rocked!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Captain Gonza dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Captain Gonza's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
and Potter counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Gonza! He's just covering up as Potter starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jack Potter!
