Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Shane Weiss (ranked 25784 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mill Kaonen (ranked 6339 p4p, 428 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Shane Weiss! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mill Kaonen! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Johanna Lukiainen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kaonen. Kaonen shoots in for a takedown but Weiss shows good takedown defense. Kaonen fails with the takedown and Weiss counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kaonen won't be happy with that. Shane Weiss has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mill Kaonen. Weiss looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Weiss throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Weiss is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kaonen is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Kaonen tries to bench press Weiss off him but Weiss keeps the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kaonen wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Weiss stands up and we're back to a striking position. Kaonen clinches.
That's one minute gone in the round. Weiss pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Kaonen moves into the clinch successfully.
Weiss drags the fight down to the ground.
Weiss wants to stand and escape but Kaonen is having none of it. Weiss has his feet on Kaonen's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Weiss clinches. Kaonen changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Weiss fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Horrible takedown attempt by Kaonen or perhaps it was just good defense by Weiss, which made it look bad. A little feinted left hand from Weiss on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Kaonen moves into range and clinches up with Weiss.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kaonen tries to pull guard but Weiss forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Weiss tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Weiss struggles to land a body shot inside as Kaonen controls his hands.
The referee is keeping an eye on Kaonen - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
A short uppercut from Kaonen. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Weiss stalling against the cage.
Kaonen's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Weiss comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Weiss gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Weiss is looking to stand up but Kaonen won't let him. Kaonen has momentary wrist control but Weiss slips an elbow through the middle. Kaonen looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Kaonen looks winded! Weiss is in close to Kaonen's body, working some short punches and elbows. Kaonen is trying to keep Weiss in close.
Weiss lands a couple of digs. Weiss working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Weiss decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Kaonen, up you get! A head kick misses from Kaonen. Weiss has managed to clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Kaonen prevents Weiss from getting back to his feet. Weiss tries to land a sweep but no joy. Weiss controlling the position. Weiss escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kaonen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Kaonen preventing the sweep. Kaonen prevents Weiss from getting back to his feet. Kaonen lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Kaonen trying to control but Weiss is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kaonen has his takedown stuffed and Weiss counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Kaonen instigates a clinch. Kaonen is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Weiss lands a nice uppercut. Kaonen tries to throw a body punch but Weiss avoids it by throwing Kaonen back against the cage. Kaonen gets control of Weiss's arms and successfully pulls guard. Kaonen will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Weiss makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Kaonen wants to sweep here but Weiss controlling him for the moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kaonen has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Weiss has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Kaonen is trying to pull guard but Weiss turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Kaonen is breathing heavily. Kaonen has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Weiss is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Shane Weiss has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mill Kaonen. Kaonen avoiding damage as Weiss throws knees to the body.
Weiss is trying to pull guard but Kaonen turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Weiss pushes off an throws an elbow but Kaonen leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Kaonen is working for takedown but Weiss is calmly controlling the position for now. Kaonen is looking to break free of the clinch but Weiss has double underhooks. Weiss has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kaonen uses from the top position. The fighters are working up against the cage. Weiss manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Weiss is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Kaonen pulls him back up using the underhooks. A frustrated look appears on Kaonen's face as he tries to break the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Weiss lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kaonen fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Kaonen is looking to work some ground and pound but Weiss has wrist control. Weiss has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Weiss is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kaonen is controlling him. Kaonen must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Weiss keeping full guard, as Kaonen tries to pass. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Weiss is adopting a defensive guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Kaonen takes the fight into the clinch. Weiss ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Weiss no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Kaonen scoring with punches to the head and body. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shane Weiss dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Kaonen gets a clinch. Kaonen has Weiss pressed against the cage, preventing Weiss from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Kaonen goes for a takedown in the clinch but Weiss prevents it.
Weiss's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Kaonen with a poor takedown and Weiss counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Mill Kaonen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A low kick from Kaonen is predictable there and Weiss counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Weiss seems to be working for a kimura but Kaonen defends the submission attempt. Kaonen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Weiss. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Kaonen is looking for a sweep. Weiss is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Weiss is looking for a kimura but Kaonen is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Weiss to get the leverage. Weiss is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Kaonen on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Kaonen takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Kaonen pushes Weiss off looking to stand but Weiss dives back in and keeps control.

Weiss is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kaonen is just riding it out for now. Weiss eventually gives up the hold. Weiss is looking for a kimura here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Kaonen looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Weiss wants to get back to his feet.
Weiss is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kaonen defends it well. Weiss seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Kaonen taking some punishment here, with Weiss in his half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Weiss connects with a nice short shot to Kaonen's temple. Kaonen is looking to improve his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Kaonen has hold of Weiss's hands but Weiss slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Weiss landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Kaonen tries to get to full guard but Weiss has control of the leg. Kaonen wants to control but Weiss is keeping busy and won't allow it. Kaonen taking some punishment here, with Weiss in his half guard. Weiss is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Weiss winds up and cracks Kaonen with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Weiss is working for a kimura but Kaonen is defending it quite comfortably.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Weiss prevents Kaonen from improving his position.
And that's the end of the fight! Shane Weiss showed his dominance in that final round. Well Weiss has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
