Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Satoru Takada (ranked 1940 p4p, 192 weight class) and Gunter Vogler (ranked 2104 p4p, 205 weight class). Vogler is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Durchblick - Mach Dich Locker. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Satoru Takada! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
27 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gunter Vogler! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vogler shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Takada's guard. Vogler looking to pass the guard. Vogler is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vogler stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Takada swivels though and keeps the full guard. Vogler engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Nice cross by Vogler. A bone on bone clash there as Takada blocks the leg kick.
Satoru Takada is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Vogler bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. A jab from Vogler misses. Vogler swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Takada. Takada misses with a wild body shot. Takada throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Vogler counters with a nice uppercut. Takada throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Vogler. Takada lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Takada ducks under a wild hook from Vogler. Vogler shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Takada is trying to defend but Vogler finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. This has been an exciting period of action! Well, if Vogler is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Vogler wants to pass the guard but Takada is defending well. Vogler is figuring out what he wants to do next.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Let's hope that Vogler has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Vogler is thwarting Takada's attempts to control the position. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Takada chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Vogler can pounce on him.
Takada throws out a loose jab but Vogler uses good head movement to avoid it. Vogler feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Takada keeping full guard, as Vogler tries to pass. Takada looking for a sweep. Not yet Takada, not yet. Takada can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Vogler controls the pace. Vogler trying to control but Takada is working from the bottom. Vogler wants to pass the guard but Takada is keeping the position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Vogler passes into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vogler with a hook. Takada connects with a body shot. Nice body punch from Takada. Vogler thumps Takada with a low kick. Takada slips a straight right by Vogler. Takada seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. A jab from Vogler misses. Takada displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Vogler throws out the jab. Takada throwing a counter right hand but Vogler manages to avoid it. Nice uppercut there from Takada. Vogler throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Vogler uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Vogler tried to score with a low kick but Takada checks it. Gunter Vogler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Takada lands a nice shot that snaps Vogler's head back.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A big left from Takada misses. Takada throws a body punch but Vogler moves out of range. Vogler scores with a shot to the body.
Vogler gets a takedown into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vogler keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Vogler is looking to advance position but Takada won't allow it. Takada is in trouble now - Vogler has advanced to mount! Vogler has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Vogler wants to control the pace but Takada is squirming around nicely. Takada is desperately trying to improve his position but Vogler has a good base and remains in mount. Vogler sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vogler's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Takada is looking to improve his position but Vogler isn't that keen on the idea. Vogler wants to control the pace but Takada is squirming around nicely. Vogler is trying to take his opponent's back.

Takada is working hard here to advance position. Takada prevents Vogler from taking his back. Vogler controlling his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Vogler wants to take Takada's back here but Takada is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gunter Vogler showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Takada's jab looks to have found its range, popping Vogler under the eye. Takada takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Nice takedown defense from Takada. No joy for Vogler on that attempt. An attempted straight right counter from Takada misses the target. Vogler rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Takada counters with a stiff right hand. Takada drops his hands momentarily and Vogler takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Takada scores with a jab to the body. Takada throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Vogler throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Vogler misses with an uppercut. Takada takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Nice defenses there by Vogler. Vogler throws a jab when Takada was well out of range. Vogler is looking to slow Takada down with leg kicks. Takada fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Vogler manages to avoid it. Vogler looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Takada slips under a jab from Vogler. An attempted straight right counter from Takada misses the target. Vogler lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vogler scores with a nice strike. Takada throws a hook to the side of Vogler's head but Vogler sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Vogler throws a big shot that misses. Takada wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Vogler takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Takada loads up on a big right hand but Vogler slips the punch. Vogler throws a jab but it's blocked by Takada. Takada uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Vogler. Takada cracks Vogler with a right hand to the side of the head. Takada showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Vogler.
Takada throws a looping overhand right but Vogler ducks down to avoid it. Nice defenses there by Vogler. Vogler connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Takada misses with a straight right. Takada lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Vogler slips under a jab from Takada. Satoru Takada has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vogler shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Vogler was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Vogler trying to control the position but Takada is working away. Vogler just content to control the position. Takada is not content to let Vogler control the position. Vogler controls the position from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Takada is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Gunter Vogler has got the better of the ground game so far. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Takada is looking to reverse the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Takada wants to control but Vogler postures up.

and Takada counters with a stiff right hand. Vogler cracks Takada with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Takada throws a big shot that misses. Vogler gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Vogler takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
It looks like Gunter Vogler has been cut. Takada moves out of range as Vogler throws a body kick.
Vogler throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Takada ducks under a wild hook from Vogler. Takada takes one to the side of the head.
Takada throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Vogler counters with a good low kick that Takada was not able to check. The crowd cheers as Vogler lands an impressive looking overhand right. Takada doesn't seem phased though. Vogler throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Takada. Takada ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Takada keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
And that's the end of the fight! Gunter Vogler comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Vogler has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Gunter Vogler! A less than humble Gunter Vogler misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
