Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Aleksandr Volkov (ranked 25956 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dalcha Lungiambula (ranked 6122 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Aleksandr Volkov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dalcha Lungiambula! The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Dirk Anderson and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lungiambula manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Volkov on his heels. He'll look to pass Volkov's guard now, I'm sure. Volkov is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Lungiambula presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Lungiambula leaning against his opponent.

Lungiambula gets control of Volkov's arms and successfully pulls guard. Lungiambula will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Volkov wants to control from the top but Lungiambula keeps moving. Lungiambula has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Volkov throws a big elbow that misses. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Volkov's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Lungiambula controlling Volkov's posture.
That's one minute gone in the round. Volkov won't allow Lungiambula to get back to his feet. Lungiambula is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Volkov trying to control the position from guard on top but Lungiambula is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Lungiambula takes the fight into the clinch. Volkov jumps guard but Lungiambula stands there with Volkov around his waist. Volkov gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Lungiambula breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Lungiambula rushes Volkov and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Lungiambula successfully pulls guard.
Lungiambula keeping moving, preventing Volkov from controlling successfully. Lungiambula working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Volkov doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Volkov manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lungiambula is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Volkov makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Volkov trying to control but Lungiambula is working from the bottom. Lungiambula keeping full guard, as Volkov tries to pass. Volkov drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Volkov jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Lungiambula is pulling down on Volkov's head to control his posture. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Volkov looking to pass the guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Lungiambula is looking for a triangle but Volkov pushes his legs off easily.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Lungiambula shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Lungiambula is figuring out what he wants to do next. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dalcha Lungiambula dominated that round. That's time! Volkov's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Volkov fails to land the takedown. Lungiambula closes the distance and clinches. Lungiambula stalls. Lungiambula has hold of one of Volkov's legs. Volkov is fighting the takedown attempt but Lungiambula gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Volkov is working an open guard so Lungiambula takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Volkov is looking to take this fight into the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Volkov gets caught napping as Lungiambula dives in and scores a takedown. Volkov manages to retain guard. Lungiambula is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Lungiambula tries to free his leg and advance position but Volkov is retaining full guard. Lungiambula is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Dalcha Lungiambula has got the better of the ground game so far. Lungiambula seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Lungiambula feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Volkov is wriggling around but Lungiambula manages to pass to half guard.
Lungiambula has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Lungiambula performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Volkov manages to get to full guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lungiambula engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Lungiambula's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Lungiambula postures up.

Dalcha Lungiambula showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Volkov has his takedown stuffed and Lungiambula counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Volkov! Lungiambula has knee on belly momentarily but Volkov bucks him off and regains half guard. Lungiambula working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Lungiambula lands a nice short elbow. Lungiambula looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lungiambula decides to return to a standing position. Volkov with a poor takedown and Lungiambula counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Lungiambula. Lungiambula must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Lungiambula wants to stand but Volkov is controlling his posture from full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lungiambula drops back, looking for a kneebar! Volkov looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Volkov looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Volkov!
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Lungiambula regains half guard. Lungiambula really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Volkov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Volkov is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Lungiambula sees it coming and defends easily. Volkov trying to control from half guard but Lungiambula is working away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lungiambula tries to get to full guard but Volkov has control of the leg. Lungiambula looking for submissions off his back. Volkov prevents Lungiambula from improving his position. Lungiambula is pressing down on Volkov's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Volkov trying to control but Lungiambula is working from the bottom. Lungiambula scores with a short punch from the bottom. Lungiambula managing to control the position. Lungiambula throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Volkov escapes and throws Lungiambula's legs to the side, diving into side control! Lungiambula is trying to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Lungiambula controls the position for a moment. Volkov tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Volkov has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Lungiambula has one of Volkov's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Dalcha Lungiambula. Well Lungiambula has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
