Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Hawk (ranked 7104 p4p, 599 weight class) and Rei Gallardo (ranked 6446 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mike Hawk! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rei Gallardo! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Jeff Smith and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hawk moves into the clinch. Gallardo throws a head punch that misses. Hawk jumps guard.
Hawk looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gallardo is one step ahead there. Hawk is looking for a triangle but Gallardo pushes his legs off easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hawk has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Gallardo trying to control the position from guard on top but Hawk is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hawk seems keen to control Gallardo's posture.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hawk lands a good elbow from the bottom. Hawk has Gallardo pulled in close to control his posture. Hawk on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Hawk tries to get out of the position. Gallardo stops Hawk from standing up. Hawk wants to sweep but no luck. Hawk controlling Gallardo's posture. Hawk has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Hawk wants to sweep here but Gallardo controlling him for the moment. Hawk throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Hawk pulls Gallardo in close to his closed guard and prevents Gallardo from doing any damage or advancing position. Hawk has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Gallardo should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Hawk has tightened it up now! Gallardo should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
