Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Doug Lacey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Craig Marduk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marduk is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by DMX - Intro. Craig Marduk is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Doug Lacey! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Craig Marduk! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Reed Andrews and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lacey throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Marduk closes the distance and pushes Lacey back into the cage. Marduk has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Lacey is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Marduk can't get the takedown.
Marduk has Lacey pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Lacey manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Doug Lacey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Craig Marduk. Lacey stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Marduk has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Lacey is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lacey has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Marduk avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Lacey is pressed up against the cage. Marduk has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Lacey down to the mat. Lacey avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Lacey lands an overhand right.
It looks like Craig Marduk has been cut. Lacey wants to clinch up but Marduk keeps it at a distance. Lacey misses with a two punch combination.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lacey shoots in and bounces Marduk off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Marduk is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Marduk manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lacey manages to get himself to full guard.
Lacey is looking to stand up but Marduk isn't so interested in that idea. Marduk is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Lacey is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Lacey has escaped and now he's on top! Lacey throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Lacey is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Lacey stands up and waves to Marduk to follow him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Marduk looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Marduk looks gassed! Lacey swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Lacey shoots and misses and Marduk counters with a takedown into side control. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Marduk working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Marduk landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Marduk has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Lacey sneaks back into half guard. Lacey is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Marduk blocks the strikes from Lacey.

Lacey has one foot on Marduk's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Marduk scores with a takedown into Lacey's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marduk won't allow Lacey to get back to his feet. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Lacey throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Marduk postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Lacey wants to stand up but Marduk is controlling him. Marduk is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Lacey kicks Marduk off and gets to his feet. Lacey throws a series of strikes that have Marduk backpedaling.
Marduk has a takedown stuffed. Lacey misses with a takedown and Marduk counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Marduk scoring with strikes to the body and head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are battling for position here. Lacey manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Marduk trying to control the position from guard on top but Lacey is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Marduk missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Lacey manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Lacey landing strikes from the mount and Marduk is in trouble! Marduk is looking to improve his position but Lacey isn't that keen on the idea. Lacey lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Marduk tries to lock up and control but Lacey gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Lacey landing strikes from the mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Craig Marduk will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Craig Marduk's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Lacey fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Lacey fails with the takedown. Some bone on bone action there as Marduk checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Marduk dodges the punch combination from Lacey.
Lacey lands with a shot to the body. Lacey tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Marduk swivels and escapes. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Doug Lacey. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lacey throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Lacey throws a chopping leg kick but Marduk manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Doug Lacey is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Lacey swats away the attempt to clinch by Marduk. Marduk has a takedown stuffed. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Marduk gets a takedown into half guard. Marduk works his foot free and advances to mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lacey is trying to escape the mount.
Marduk scoring with strikes but Lacey is staying in there. A nice elbow there by Marduk. Marduk lands a big shot there that rocks Lacey but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Marduk has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Lacey's face.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Marduk with a couple of short strikes. Marduk is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Lacey can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Lacey wants to get back to his feet.
Marduk prevents Lacey from getting the reversal. Marduk lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Lacey hang on? The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Marduk with a couple of short strikes. Lacey really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Lacey really wants to buck Marduk off and get back to his feet. Lacey is desperately trying to improve his position but Marduk has a good base and remains in mount. Lacey tries to lock up and control but Marduk gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Marduk postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Lacey looks a forlorn figure.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Marduk fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Craig Marduk showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Craig Marduk's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Lacey drives through with a takedown into guard. Marduk working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lacey doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lacey manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Lacey slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Lacey landing a few strikes. Lacey cracks Marduk with a big right hand but Marduk just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Marduk manages to work his way to half guard, despite Lacey's best efforts. Marduk blocking the ground and pound attempt from Lacey. Craig Marduk has got the better of the ground game so far. Marduk wants to control but Lacey is keeping busy and won't allow it. Lacey looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Marduk with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Marduk looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Lacey lands with a punch from half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lacey scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Marduk is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Lacey scores with a couple of nice shots. Lacey landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Lacey working Marduk over with strikes. Marduk is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Lacey working over Marduk with some ground and pound. Marduk looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Lacey connects with a nice short shot to Marduk's temple. Lacey sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Marduk defending well though. Marduk is controlling Lacey's position as best he can from this difficult position. Marduk is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Lacey scores with a couple of nice shots.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. It looks like Lacey is going to stand back up.
Lacey throws a strike but Marduk avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Marduk avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Marduk has momentary wrist control but Lacey slips an elbow through the middle. Marduk is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Marduk lands with a punch from half guard. Lacey is trying to stand.
Lacey lands with a few short shots to the body. Lacey is not content to let Marduk control the position. Marduk slips a nice elbow through Lacey's hands, connecting with Lacey's forehead.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marduk wants to take a breather but Lacey is having none of it. Lacey tries to kick Marduk off but Marduk keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Lacey manages to get to full guard.
Marduk drops back, looking for a kneebar! Lacey looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Lacey looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Lacey! Lacey working the ground and pound. Lacey lands a few punches from side control. Lacey misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Marduk sneaks back into half guard. Marduk is pressing down on Lacey's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lacey throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Marduk wants to sweep here but Lacey controlling him for the moment. Lacey postures up and lands a big shot to Marduk's brow. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Lacey's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Marduk is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

And that's the end of the fight! Doug Lacey showed his dominance in that final round. I think Marduk has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
