Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Pall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alan Schaefer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schaefer is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Bending by Hopesfall. Jon Pall has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jon Pall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alan Schaefer!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Alyssa Summers and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schaefer fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Pall avoids a punch combination nicely.
Alan Schaefer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pall slips a jab and a cross from Schaefer.

Pall scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Schaefer can't do much from the bottom here.
Schaefer is looking for a sweep.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pall trying to control the position but Schaefer is working away.
Schaefer looking for a sweep but Pall has passed into full mount! Oh no!

Schaefer wants to hold on but Pall pushes him away.
Pall tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Pall can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Schaefer is looking to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Schaefer is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Schaefer tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Pall moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Schaefer has worked his arm free - good work by Schaefer!
Schaefer is looking to reverse the position.
Schaefer seems a little lost for a moment, as Pall dominates the positioning.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pall throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Pall tries to advance to mount but Schaefer denies him.
Schaefer is looking for a sweep.
Pall taking a break here but Schaefer is having none of it and regains half guard.
Pall seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Schaefer does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Pall throws a strike but Schaefer avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Pall is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Pall tries to free his leg and advance position but Schaefer is retaining full guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Pall's corner is telling him to maintain position.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jon Pall dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Schaefer lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Schaefer closes the distance and pushes Pall back into the cage.
A right handed body shot lands from Pall.
Schaefer dodges an elbow strike from Pall.

Pall's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Nice body kick there by Pall.
Pall throws a right and a left that Schaefer avoids nicely.
Schaefer falls off balance throwing a combination

and Pall counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Pall wants to control from the top but Schaefer keeps moving.

That's one minute gone in the round.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Schaefer is on top in guard.
Pall trying to strike off his back.
Schaefer postures up.
Schaefer stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pall swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Schaefer controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Schaefer trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Pall managing to control the position.

Schaefer won't allow Pall to sweep him here.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Schaefer lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Schaefer.

Schaefer closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Schaefer gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Pall.

Schaefer breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Pall throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Schaefer counters with a series of strikes. Pall will be more careful next time no doubt.
Schaefer throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pall keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Schaefer lands a two punch combo.

Schaefer has taken the fight to the clinch.
Pall misses with a punch to the body.

Schaefer's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Schaefer darts in trying to clinch

and Pall counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Pall.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Schaefer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Schaefer has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jon Pall will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Schaefer takes the fight into the clinch.
Schaefer tries for a takedown but Pall manages to get underhooks.
Schaefer wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Pall's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Pall throws a combination that misses

and Schaefer counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Pall presses Schaefer against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Schaefer breaks the clinch.
Pall fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Some wild striking there from Schaefer.
Schaefer misses with a jab to the body
and Pall counters with an inside leg kick.
Schaefer throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Pall.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Schaefer has taken the fight to the clinch.
Schaefer prevents the takedown attempt.
Pall jumps guard but Schaefer stands there with Pall around his waist. Pall gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jon Pall. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Schaefer escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Schaefer misses with a leg kick

and Pall counters with a single leg into guard. Schaefer didn't expect that.
Pall looking to sit in guard and control but Schaefer gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Schaefer wants to get up but he can't break Pall's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Schaefer takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Schaefer is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Schaefer looking to pass the guard.
Schaefer not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Pall throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Schaefer wants to control from the top but Pall keeps moving.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Schaefer slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Schaeferis looking to pass into half guard but Pall pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Pall is in guard.
Schaefer wants to get back to his feet but Pall is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jon Pall showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pall, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
