PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tyson Cobb (ranked 93 p4p, 10 weight class) and Jan Schrijber (ranked 862 p4p, 92 weight class). Cobb's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Redman - Time 4 Sum Aksion. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyson Cobb!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jan Schrijber!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Cobb!
Schrijber misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Cobb motions for Schrijber to come forward. Cobb throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Schrijber avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Schrijber connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Cobb momentarily.


It looks like Tyson Cobb has been cut.
Schrijber throws a sloppy head kick and Cobb moves out of range easily.
Cobb bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Schrijber's head.
Cobb throws a chopping leg kick but Schrijber manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Cobb throws a shot from downtown. Schrijber moves away and avoids it.
Schrijber looks to score with a jab to the body but Cobb is just out of range.
Cobb chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Cobb throws a right hand that misses

and Schrijber moves into the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cobb blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Cobb blocks an uppercut.
Schrijber trying to land knees to the body.
Schrijber using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Cobb has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Cobb is looking to break free of the clinch but Schrijber has double underhooks.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Cobb manages to break the clinch.
Cobb misses with a low kick.
Cobb is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Schrijber.
Schrijber throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Schrijber lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Cobb avoids a kick to the body.
A little feinted left hand from Cobb on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Cobb throws a nice looking combination but Schrijber bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A telegraphed right hand from Cobb misses the target.

Cobb drops Schrijber with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Schrijber looks back up at him and smiles so Cobb waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.


Schrijber is rocked!


It looks like Jan Schrijber has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Schrijber lands a leg kick that knocks Cobb off balance momentarily.
Cobb takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Cobb connects with a jab.
Schrijber is still on wobbly legs! Can Cobb finish him?
Cobb keeps the fight on the outside.
Schrijber seems to have recovered his senses.
Schrijber fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Cobb looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Cobb wants to slow Schrijber down by chopping away at his legs.
Schrijber is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Schrijber throws a half hearted mid kick.
Schrijber tries to clinch there but Cobb circles away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
