Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Aleksandr Volkov (ranked 25993 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dalcha Lungiambula (ranked 5224 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Aleksandr Volkov has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Aleksandr Volkov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dalcha Lungiambula! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Dirk Anderson and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Volkov tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Volkov fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Volkov with a lazy takedown attempt and Lungiambula counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Volkov! Lungiambula creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Lungiambula has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Lungiambula keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aleksandr Volkov. That's going to take a lot out of him. Volkov tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lungiambula swats him away and circles back towards the center. Lungiambula looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it. Lungiambula throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Volkov was covering up waiting for the punch and Lungiambula finishes the takedown easily into guard. Volkov wants to get back to his feet but Lungiambula passes into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Lungiambula missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

Volkov is looking for a sweep. Lungiambula is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Lungiambula takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Lungiambula is thwarting Volkov's attempts to control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Lungiambula in particular looking to stall.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Volkov is trying to get back to full guard. Lungiambula looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Lungiambula really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Volkov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lungiambula is looking to advance position but Volkov won't allow it. Volkov is looking to improve his position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Volkov throws a low kick, looking for Lungiambula's leg but Lungiambula calmly moves out of range. Lungiambula moves into the clinch. Lungiambula manages to pull guard.
Lungiambula keeping moving, preventing Volkov from controlling successfully. Lungiambula is pulling down on Volkov's head to control his posture. Volkov prevents Lungiambula from getting back to his feet. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lungiambula is on top in guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Lungiambula holds on and takes a little breather. Volkov preventing the sweep. Volkov trying to control the position from guard on top but Lungiambula is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lungiambula can do anything to dispel that myth. Lungiambula looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Lungiambula bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Volkov's guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Volkov wants to sweep but no luck. Volkov looking to control.

Dalcha Lungiambula dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Volkov tries for a takedown but Lungiambula circles away easily and Lungiambula makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Volkov really felt that one! Lungiambula shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Volkov's guard. Lungiambula working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Volkov's head. Volkov is looking for a triangle but Lungiambula pushes his legs off easily.
Lungiambula with a nice head shot there. Lungiambula has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Volkov has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lungiambula can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Volkov keeping full guard, as Lungiambula tries to pass. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Lungiambula controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Lungiambula seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Volkov is working an open guard so Lungiambula takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Lungiambula throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Volkov tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lungiambula is in Volkov's guard.

Lungiambula is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Lungiambula decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Volkov, up you get! Lungiambula feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Lungiambula not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Dalcha Lungiambula showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!
Lungiambula changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Volkov looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Lungiambula stands up and beckons Volkov to his feet. Aleksandr Volkov is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. And that's the end of the fight! Dalcha Lungiambula comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Lungiambula has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
