Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marvin Hinton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Guss Griswald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hinton's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, 50 cent - ill whip your head boy. Griswald is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by I Set My Friends On Fire - Aiden. Marvin Hinton has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marvin Hinton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Guss Griswald!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Franklyn Lucas and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griswald changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hinton tries to avoid it but Griswald manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hinton to the ground. Hinton escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Griswald gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Hinton is trying to break free.
Griswald fails to pull guard.
Hinton wants to break the clinch but can't.
Griswald swings wildly with an uppercut but Hinton uses good head movement to avoid it.
Hinton wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Griswald has him pressed against the cage.
Hinton is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Hinton wants to get back to striking at distance but Griswald won't allow it.
Griswald can't get the takedown.
Marvin Hinton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Guss Griswald.

Griswald has Hinton pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Griswald pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Hinton tumbling to the mat - Griswald dives into Hinton's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Griswald is keen to just control but Hinton is a slippery customer.

Griswald is looking for a kimura but Hinton is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Griswald to get the leverage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hinton is squirming around, avoiding Griswald's attempts to control the action.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hinton is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Griswald trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Griswald throwing strikes here but Hinton is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Griswald has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Griswald takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Griswald is going olschool here, as he tries to force Hinton to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Hinton shrugs it off.
Hinton wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Griswald.
Griswald throws a strike there. Hinton manages to avoid it well and slips a leg under to get to half guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Griswald is keen to just control but Hinton is a slippery customer.
Hinton is trying to get back to full guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Hinton is refusing to be controlled, as Griswald sits in half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Hinton's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Hinton throws a body punch but Griswald moves out of range.
Griswald tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Griswald slips a straight right by Hinton.
Hinton swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Griswald.
Marvin Hinton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hinton throws a looping overhand right but Griswald ducks down to avoid it.
Hinton lunges at Griswald with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Griswald's hand.
Hinton looks to throw the jab but Griswald is out of range.
Griswald defending well as Hinton loads up on a big left hand.
Griswald fails with an attempt to clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Griswald looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Hinton lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Griswald circles away quickly and effectively.

Griswald closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Griswald lands in his opponent's guard.
Hinton will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Griswald is looking to stall here but Hinton recovers full guard.
Griswald thows a big elbow that misses.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Griswald postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Griswald looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Hinton is looking to stand up but Griswald isn't so interested in that idea.

Griswald drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Griswald jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Griswald scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Hinton doesn't seem bothered though.
A left lands for Hinton.
Marvin Hinton is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Griswald tries to clinch up but Hinton circles away and keeps his distance.
Griswald moves in looking to clinch but Hinton pushes him off.
Griswald misses the shot to the body.
Griswald dodges the punch combination from Hinton.

Griswald drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Griswald tries to score with some ground and pound. Hinton controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Griswald throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Griswald tries to move into full mount but can't pass Hinton's legs.
Hinton is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Hinton is not content to let Griswald control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Marvin Hinton will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Hinton throws a leg kick but Griswald sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Hinton tries to bum rush Griswald with a series of wild strikes but Griswald uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Griswald decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Griswald wants to control but Hinton is keeping him busy.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Griswald not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Hinton keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Griswald perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Griswald tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hinton knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Griswald is looking to take a break and control but Hinton is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Griswald moves into full mount! Hinton won't be happy about that!
Griswald has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Hinton's face.
Griswald takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Griswald tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Griswald throwing strikes but Hinton uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Griswald seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Hinton wants to get back to his feet.
Griswald throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Marvin Hinton.
I think Hinton has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
