Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tadashi Katsumoto! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chang Sang Yoo! The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Hirohito Nitta and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Katsumoto misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Yoo tries to clinch but Katsumoto is having none of it. Katsumoto stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Katsumoto wants it to stay on the feet. Katsumoto drops down looking for a counter takedown but Yoo sprawls and moves away. The fight moves into the clinch position. Katsumoto breaks the clinch.

Katsumoto is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Yoo. Yoo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Katsumoto's waist but Katsumoto gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Yoo off to one side. Katsumoto lands a nice looking body kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Yoo has his takedown stuffed and Katsumoto counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Tadashi Katsumoto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chang Sang Yoo. Katsumoto landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

That's one minute gone in the round. Yoo shoots in looking for a takedown but Katsumoto manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Yoo's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Katsumoto lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Yoo backs up against the cage.
Katsumoto stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Katsumoto wants it to stay on the feet. Katsumoto is looking for a counter combo. Yoo looks winded! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Katsumoto is defended easily by Yoo. Yoo looks for a takedown but Katsumoto sprawls well. Katsumoto tries for a takedown but Yoo sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Yoo gets tackled into the cage by Katsumoto. Katsumoto maintains the clinch. Yoo tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Katsumoto just stands there and leans against the cage. Katsumoto's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yoo slaps away a takedown attempt from Katsumoto, before circling back to the center of the mat. Yoo tries for a takedown but Katsumoto circles away easily and Katsumoto counters with a right hand to the body. Katsumoto throws a series of punches but Yoo avoids them all with ease. Katsumoto shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Yoo as he avoids it easily. Katsumoto instigates a clinch. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Katsumoto pulls guard effortlessly. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Katsumoto trying to control the position.
Katsumoto wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Katsumoto has his hands clasped together around Yoo's back. He's all about the action. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Katsumoto slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Katsumoto throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Yoo won't allow Katsumoto to sweep him here. Yoo stays in close to Katsumoto's body and controls the position. Yoo scoring with some ground and pound. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Yoo stopping the sweep attempt from Katsumoto. The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Yoo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Katsumoto as he jumps to the side. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tadashi Katsumoto dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Katsumoto misses with a right hand and Yoo counters by moving into the clinch. Yoo tries to pull guard but Katsumoto holds him up against the cage and eventually Yoo drops back down to his feet.
Yoo has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Katsumoto is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Yoo wants a takedown but no success here.

Katsumoto tries to avoid it but Yoo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Katsumoto to the ground. Katsumoto escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Katsumoto feints a jab promting Yoo to slip. Katsumoto then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Yoo slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Yoo takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Yoo is looking to clinch but Katsumoto is avoiding it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Katsumoto shoots in for a double leg but Yoo sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Yoo is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Yoo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Katsumoto tries to avoid it but Yoo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Katsumoto to the ground. Katsumoto escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Katsumoto instigates a clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tadashi Katsumoto dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

As Katsumoto backs off Yoo throws a huge counter combo but Katsumoto manages to avoid it all. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Yoo darts in looking for a takedown but Katsumoto gets double underhooks and turns Yoo into the cage. Yoo lands a high kick!

Katsumoto is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Katsumoto wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Katsumoto's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Chang Sang Yoo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Tadashi Katsumoto is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. A low kick from Yoo is predictable there and Katsumoto counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
And that's the end of the fight! Tadashi Katsumoto showed his dominance in that final round. Well Katsumoto has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
