Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Josh Cook (ranked 2660 p4p, 238 weight class) and Mike Sunday (ranked 2896 p4p, 254 weight class). Mike Sunday told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

6 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Sunday! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Viktor Lagutenko and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A big left from Cook misses. Sunday moves out of range of the leg kick from Cook. Sunday throws out a counter right but Cook avoids it with no problem. Sunday throws a hook to the side of Cook's head but Cook sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Sunday jabs Cook right on the nose. Cook blinks but takes it well. Sunday has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Cook is landing a low percentage of strikes. Cook lands with a kick to the temple. Sunday shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
It looks like Mike Sunday has been cut. Cook takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Sunday takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Cook doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Cook is looking to chop away at Sunday's legs. Sunday swings for the body but Cook moves out of range.
Sunday throws a right and a left that both miss. The fighters circle momentarily. Sunday darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Sunday lands with an uppercut that bounces Cook off the cage and back into range. Cook misses with an uppercut. Cook takes a shot to the body in his stride.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sunday on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Cook throws a wild body kick that Sunday sees coming a mile off. We've been hearing reports that Cook has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Sunday misses with a hook. Cook ducked under it nicely. Cook ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Cook is looking to counter with a body kick. Sunday catches Cook with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Sunday rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

Sunday is still on wobbly legs! Can Cook finish him? Cook bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. A combination from Sunday does no damage. Cook throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Cook lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Sunday has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Sunday and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Sunday misses with a looping right. Cook throws a counter high kick but Sunday was just alert enough to avoid it. Cook lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Mike Sunday seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sloppy strikes from Sunday. Those never looked like landing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sunday throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Cook does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Cook uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sunday. That's four minutes gone in the round. Sunday looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. This has been an exciting period of action! Cook tries a head kick but it misses.

and Cook counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Sunday lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cook circles away quickly and effectively. As Sunday backs away, Cook returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. Sunday misses with an uppercut. Cook saw that one coming. Sunday cracks Cook with an open hand slap. Cook uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Sunday. A thudding body kick lands there by Cook!
Sunday scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Cook doesn't seem bothered though. A jab from Sunday misses. Cook scores with a decent looking hook. Cook throws a body punch but Sunday moves out of range. As Cook backs off Sunday throws a huge counter combo but Cook manages to avoid it all. Cook gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
