Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ramon Hyde (ranked 25703 p4p, 0 weight class) and Erkki Muhonen (ranked 6059 p4p, 634 weight class). Erkki Muhonen will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Sosuke Kotani and Yuuki Gou.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Muhonen fails with the takedown

and Hyde counters by moving into the clinch.
Hyde just leaning against Muhonen, taking a breather.

Hyde breaks the clinch.

Muhonen shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Hyde tries to kick Muhonen off but Muhonen keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Hyde manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Muhonen keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Muhonen tries to break the clinch but Hyde is controlling the position.
Muhonen drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Hyde gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Hyde tries a body shot but Muhonen blocks it.
Muhonen jumps guard but Hyde turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Ramon Hyde has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Erkki Muhonen.

Muhonen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hyde doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Muhonen shoots in and drives through. Hyde sprawls well.
Hyde could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Hyde leaves Muhonen with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Muhonen is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hyde sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Hyde feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Hyde has gone for a leg lock! Muhonen slips out almost immediately though and dives into Hyde's guard.

Hyde pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Muhonen jumps guard but Hyde turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Hyde manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Muhonen takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hyde takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Hyde walks forward, straight into a front kick from Muhonen.

Muhonen clinches up with Hyde and pushes him back against the cage.

Hyde breaks from the clinch.
A telegraphed right hand from Muhonen misses the target.
Hyde moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Muhonen throws a head kick that misses.

Hyde closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Muhonen did well to prevent Hyde getting side control.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Muhonen gets caught flat footed, as Hyde shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Muhonen wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Hyde manages to pass to side control.

Muhonen wants to control but Hyde passes into side.

Hyde is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Muhonen knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Hyde tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hyde has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Hyde stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Hyde has closed the distance and engaged Muhonen in a clinch.

Hyde breaks the clinch.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Muhonen.
Muhonen shoots in for a takedown but Hyde shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Hyde gets a double leg takedown into Muhonen's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Muhonen is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Hyde slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Ramon Hyde overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Hyde slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Muhonen.
Muhonen is trying to stand.

Muhonen is just holding on here. Hyde manages to take his back.
Muhonen is really stuck here.

Hyde is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Muhonen knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Muhonen for a finish.

Hyde is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Muhonen is trying to escape and Hyde transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Muhonen is forced to tap! Nice work there by Hyde! Very nice indeed!
