Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Venari Venator!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kazuma Onodera!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Winston Alpacca and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Onodera tries for a takedown but Venator circles away easily
and Venator counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Venator ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
A looping hook to the body misses from Venator. Onodera does a little dance to reset his feet.
Onodera shoots in but no luck this time.
A little feinted left hand from Venator on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Venator definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Venator darts in and clinches Onodera up against the cage.
Onodera tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Venari Venator has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kazuma Onodera.
Venator lands with a short head shot on the inside.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Onodera takes a shot to the head.
Onodera is trying to pull guard but Venator turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Venari Venator is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Venator misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Onodera.
Venator falls off balance throwing a combination
so Onodera counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Onodera stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Venator swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Onodera controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Onodera has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at King Of Pain. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Venator knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Onodera on the ground.
Onodera sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Venator's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Still in half guard, Onodera seems content to control.
Onodera seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Venator is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
