Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sean Flynn (ranked 6560 p4p, 676 weight class) and Santiago Costa (ranked 6538 p4p, 670 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Santiago Costa!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Costa misses the body punch

and Flynn counters with a crisp one two that drops Costa! Flynn thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Costa to his feet! Costa is in big trouble!
Costa tries a head kick but it misses.

Flynn closes the distance and clinches.

Costa tries to stall but Flynn uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Flynn manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Flynn lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.


Flynn got a little sloppy there for a moment and Costa has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Flynn has managed to get both his arms back between Costa's legs - danger averted.

Flynn connects with a leg kick. Costa looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Flynn is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Costa can do to turn this around?

Costa has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Flynn is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Costa.

Costa isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Flynn stacks Costa on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Flynn!

Flynn looking to break Costa's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Costa remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Flynn will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Flynn lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Costa looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Flynn is fending him off so far but Costa persists. Nope, Flynn circles away and we're back to standing.

Costa throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Flynn escapes and throws Costa's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Flynn is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Costa knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Costa for a finish.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Costa accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Flynn, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In his post fight interview, Sean Flynn started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
