Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Steffen Baier (ranked 5976 p4p, 0 weight class) and DShawnte White (ranked 6045 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Steffen Baier!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, DShawnte White!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Steven Brown and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
White shoots in looking for a takedown. Baier tries to sprawl out of it but White keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Baier manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
White shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Baier pinned against the cage. Baier gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
White scores with a jab to the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Baier closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
White misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Baier.
White lands with a right hand.
White throws a lazy right hand but Baier sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Baier attempts a counter takedown but White avoids it well and moves away.

White closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Baier to the mat! Baier manages to get full guard.

Baier is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. White is aware though and is defending well.

White not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Baier is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Baier wants to advance to full mount but White doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Baier wants to pass the guard but White is keeping the position.

White has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Baier can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Baier stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. White swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Baier works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
White is controlling Baier's position as best he can from this difficult position.
White is refusing to be controlled, as Baier sits in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


White lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Baier circles away quickly and effectively.
A big left from White misses.
Baier feinted with a counter takedown.
White shoots for a takedown but Baier saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Baier changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Jab, jab by White - just one landing.
White tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Baier defends well and White ends up having to push Baier into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

White has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

White misses with a hook. Baier ducked under it nicely.

White misses with an uppercut. Baier saw that one coming.
Baier drops down looking for a counter takedown but White sprawls and moves away.

White tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Baier was well out of range. Poor timing from White.

White shoots in and drives through. Baier sprawls well.
Steffen Baier has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of DShawnte White.

White connects with the punch.

White closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Baier to the mat! Baier manages to get full guard.
Baier wants to sweep here but White controlling him for the moment.

Baier working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. White doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. White manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

A looping hook to the body misses from White. Baier does a little dance to reset his feet.
DShawnte White seems to be getting the better of the standup.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Baier slips under a jab.
Baier half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
White misses with an uppercut

and Baier counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Baier.
Baier wants to control from the top but White keeps moving.
DShawnte White has got the better of the ground game so far.
Baier forces his way into half guard.
Baier moves nicely into side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

DShawnte White showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round!



Baier gets caught flat footed, as White shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Baier is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
White controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
White wants to control from the top but Baier keeps moving.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Baier slips under a jab.
White throws a poor cross that misses
and Baier cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Good standup being displayed there by White as he connects with a hook.

White throws out a loose jab but Baier uses good head movement to avoid it.
Baier changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
White swings widly with a right hand

and Baier counters with a shoot takedown. White fights it but they end up in guard.
White lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Baier looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
White's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Baier is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
White wants to control from the top but Baier keeps moving.

White is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Steffen Baier has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
White controlling the pace.
Baier wants to control but White is keeping busy and won't allow it.

White looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Baier has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. White is working away from the top position though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
White controlling the pace.
White is trying to control. Baier wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
White prevents Baier from improving his position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
White seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Baier does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
DShawnte White is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

White fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Baier to the ground. White is now in Baier's guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
DShawnte White comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well White has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
