Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Daren Byrd (ranked 25785 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Daniels (ranked 7894 p4p, 0 weight class). Jack Daniels will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Daren Byrd! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Daniels! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Dean Styles and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Byrd fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Daniels avoids it really well and circles away. Byrd walks into a jab. Daniels tries a head kick but it misses.
Byrd is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Daniels throws a head kick that misses. Daniels fails with the takedown. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Byrd blocks a head kick by Daniels.
Byrd shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Daniels napping and manages to drive through into side control! Byrd remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
That's one minute gone in the round. Byrd has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Byrd will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Byrd has control of an arm but Daniels manages to advance to Byrd's back! Daniels thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent. Daniels working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Byrd is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Daniels has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Byrd taps out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Jack Daniels!
