Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Drake Fury (ranked 1488 p4p, 160 weight class) and Akamu Kalani (ranked 1967 p4p, 205 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Drake Fury!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Akamu Kalani!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, David Hoff and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fury with a lazy takedown attempt
letting Kalani counter with a right hand.
Fury looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Fury shoots in looking for a takedown. Kalani tries to sprawl out of it but Fury keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kalani manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Drake Fury. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Fury closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kalani did well to prevent Fury getting side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fury is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Kalani has managed to free his arm - good work.
Fury keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kalani is in trouble now - Fury has advanced to mount!

Fury working for a submission but Kalani is keeping him at bay.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fury looking to control but Kalani is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Fury wants to finish this one by submission but Kalani is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Fury.
Fury takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Kalani prevents Fury from taking his back.

Kalani defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Fury.

Fury jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Kalani manages to avoid the submission attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Fury is trying to get an arm triangle but Kalani is defending well.

Fury has hold of Kalani's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Kalani tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Fury cranks the arm and Kalani screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Kalani, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Drake Fury!
Drake Fury retains his heavyweight title!
A less than humble Drake Fury misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
