Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carlton Hensley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nils Garmann!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Cecil Peabody and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hensley tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Garmann paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Garmann closes the distance and clinches up with Hensley, looking for a takedown. Garmann pushes Hensley against the cage but Hensley circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Nils Garmann seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Both fighters circling a little - Garmann finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Nice takedown defense from Hensley. No joy for Garmann on that attempt.
Hensley is looking to clinch but Garmann is avoiding it.
Garmann will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Carlton Hensley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nils Garmann.
Garmann shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hensley pinned against the cage. Hensley gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Garmann moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Hensley closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Garmann to the mat! Garmann manages to get full guard.

Hensley is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Garmann is looking for a triangle but Hensley pushes his legs off easily.
Hensley postures up in Garmann's guard and throws a big left but Garmann blocks it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Hensley wants to get up but he can't break Garmann's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hensley is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Hensley postures up in Garmann's guard and throws a big left but Garmann blocks it.
Garmann has his hands on Hensley's head, controlling the position.

Hensley got a little sloppy there for a moment and Garmann has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hensley has managed to get both his arms back between Garmann's legs - danger averted.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hensley's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Garmann is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Hensley closes the distance and clinches.
Hensley stalls.
Stalling in the clinch from Hensley.

Garmann's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Garmann shoots in but Hensley avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Hensley closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Garmann misses with a knee strike.

Garmann breaks the clinch.
Hensley could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Hensley closes this distance looking for a takedown but Garmann circles away.

Hensley clinches.
Hensley has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Garmann is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hensley changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Garmann fights it off and pushes away nicely.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hensley throws a big counter combination but Garmann scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Hensley changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

It looks like Nils Garmann has been cut.
Garmann is breathing heavily.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Garmann drops down looking for an ankle pick but Hensley pulls his leg out and moves away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hensley looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Garmann wants to clinch up but Hensley keeps it at a distance.
Hensley wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Hensley slaps away a takedown attempt from Garmann, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Hensley was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Garmann.
Hensley is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Garmann can do to turn this around?

Hensley shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hensley showed some decent athleticism there.

Garmann is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hensley pulls his head out easily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Hensley decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Hensley is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Garmann's half guard.

Hensley works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Hensley wants to control but Garmann is keeping him busy.
Hensley has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hensley prevents Garmann from escaping the position.

Hensley lands an elbow.

You can see the frustration on Garmann's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Carlton Hensley overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Garmann is pushing Hensley's head away, looking to escape. Hensley manages to hold on to the position though.

Hensley cracks Garmann with a big elbow.
Garmann takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Garmann tries to improve position but can't.

Hensley takes a little break here. Garmann wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Hensley is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Garmann knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Hensley is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Garmann has escaped the position, nice work there.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Garmann struggling a bit here.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Hensley cracks Garmann with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Hensley is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Garmann is looking for a sweep.

Well Hensley has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
