Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alvaro Ortaga (ranked 3527 p4p, 383 weight class) and Tim Winkle (ranked 24172 p4p, 736 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Alvaro Ortaga! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tim Winkle! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ortaga throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Ortaga throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Winkle counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Nice shot by Ortaga. Ortaga drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Winkle tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. Ortaga is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ortaga's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Winkle is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Winkle is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
We've been hearing good reports from Ortaga's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Winkle takes a big shot to the side of the head.
Ortaga really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Winkle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ortaga lands a punch to the side of the head from the back. Ortaga controlling the position well here. Winkle rolled but Ortaga kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Ortaga is punishing Winkle with strikes - can he finish him?! Ortaga trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Winkle doesn't escape. Winkle grimaces as he takes a shot to the body.

Good control from Ortaga. Ortaga avoiding Winkle 's attempts to control his hands. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ortaga trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Winkle doesn't escape. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Ortaga. Ortaga tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Alvaro Ortaga overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Winkle takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Winkle can't do much from the bottom here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ortaga grinds an elbow into Winkle's temple.
That's one minute gone in the round. Winkle is trying to get back to half guard. Ortaga tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Ortaga working the body and head with strikes. The referee asks Ortaga politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Ortaga prefers to stall for the moment though. Ortaga grinds an elbow into Winkle's temple. Ortaga is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Winkle can do to turn this around? A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Ortaga works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Winkle takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Winkle is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Ortaga is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Winkle's shoulder. That is not cool. Ortaga advances nicely into full mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ortaga looking to control and managing it successfully. Ortaga working away from the top, dropping strikes. Ortaga controlling from the full mount. Ortaga scores with a couple of good head shots there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ortaga looking to control and managing it successfully. Ortaga has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Winkle's face.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ortaga takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Ortaga fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alvaro Ortaga dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!
Winkle doesn't manage to clinch there - Ortaga circles away.
Winkle takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Ortaga throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Winkle's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Ortaga dives in looking to finish as Winkle flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Ortaga's strikes! Ortaga is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Winkle's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Winkle was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:13 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alvaro Ortaga!
