Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Billy Hardy!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Phil Schofield and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardy shoots in and drives through. Workman sprawls well.
Billy Hardy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hardy looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Workman looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.

Workman changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hardy looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Hardy tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Workman looking to finish Hardy with some ground and pound. This is bad for Hardy!

Workman's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Hardy tries to lock up and control but Workman gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Workman pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Hardy takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Hardy tries to lock up and control but Workman gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Workman wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.

Hardy is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Workman.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Workman is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Workman gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Workman gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Workman apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Workman throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hardy's waist but Hardy gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Workman off to one side.

Hardy darts in looking for a takedown but Workman gets double underhooks and turns Hardy into the cage.

Hardy is breathing heavily.
Workman is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Workman is chipping away with strikes.

Hardy wants to get back to his feet.
Hardy is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Workman is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hardy can do to turn this around?
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
