The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turnup shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Owens as he jumps to the side.
A head kick misses from Turnup.
Turnup looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Owens lands a nice looking kick to the body. Turnup takes a step back to recover.
Turnup takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Owens.
Turnup scores with a nice right hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Turnup pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Turnup shoots in looking for a takedown. Owens tries to sprawl out of it but Turnup keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Owens manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Owens decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Turnup, up you get!
Owens is looking to clinch but Turnup is avoiding it.
Turnup throws a right and a left that Owens avoids nicely.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Owens, right into the meat.

Turnup dives in and scores a takedown into Owens's guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Owens manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Owens jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Turnup walks away with a smile on his face. Owens gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Turnup misses with a few strikes there.
Turnup tries to score a power double leg takedown but Owens sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Turnup somewhat.

Turnup shoots in looking for a takedown but Owens manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Turnup's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Owens rushes Turnup and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Turnup closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Turnup lands in his opponent's guard.

Owens isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Turnup stacks Owens on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Turnup!

Turnup decides to stand back up.
