Coming up we have a welterweight kickboxing rules bout between Buster Hively (ranked 9507 p4p, 727 weight class) and Khru Jako (ranked 2811 p4p, 331 weight class). Hively comes to the ring accompanied by Miley Cyrus - Wrecking Ball. Jako has chosen Catch a Fire as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Khru Jako!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yuuki Gou and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hively lands a nice shot that snaps Jako's head back.
Hively takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Jako falls off balance throwing a combination
and Hively counters with a nice uppercut.
A looping hook to the body misses from Hively. Jako does a little dance to reset his feet.
Hively lands with a thumping leg kick.
Jako scoring well with a low kick there.
Jako misses with a wild body shot.
Jako fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Hively on the side of the head.
Jako moves out of range of the body kick from Hively.
Jako thows a left - swing and a miss!
Hively gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Jako misses with an attempted mid kick.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jako misses with a wild body shot.
Jako staying out of range there.
Jako walks into a straight right hand from Hively.
Hively throws a jab but it's blocked by Jako.

Hively scores with a nice head shot.

and Hively counters with a low kick, right behind Jako 's knee.
Jako walks into a straight right hand from Hively.
Hively showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Jako.

Hively tests Jako's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Jako looks to land a combination but Hively avoids it well.
Jako takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Hively, right into the meat.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hively throws a head kick that misses.
Jako throws a right and a left that both miss.

Jako throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Jako throws a combination that misses
letting Hively counter with a right hand.
Hively really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Jako lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Jako - that will leave a mark!
It looks like Hively has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
Jako swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Jako misses with a double jab.
Hively throws a quick inside leg kick.
Hively throws the kick towards the body but Jako avoids it.
Hively scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Hively throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Jako comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hively uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jako.
Jako throws a head kick but Hively moves out of range.
Hively is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Jako tries a head kick but it misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Buster Hively will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Jako tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Jako fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Hively tried to counter with a leg kick but Jako avoided it.
Hively has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Jako finds it's way round the side to connect with Hively's head.
A chopping leg kick lands by Jako.
A right-left combo lands from Hively.
A nice leg kick lands there from Hively.
Hively moves into range and connects with a jab.
Jako throws a sloppy head kick and Hively moves out of range easily.
Hively swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Jako chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Hively can pounce on him.
Jako dips to his left and cracks Hively with an uppercut!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Jako clinches with his opponent.
Hively is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Hively wants to get back to striking at distance but Jako won't allow it.

Jako escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jako's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Hively connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Jako throws a half hearted mid kick.

Jako takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Jako fails to land with a series of punches.
Buster Hively is winning the standup battle so far.
Hively scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Hively throws out a leg kick but Jako moves out of range and Hively only half commits.
Hively scores with a nice head shot.
Jako throws a sloppy head kick and Hively moves out of range easily.
Hively is looking to land body kicks.
Jako lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Hively misses with a few strikes there.
Hively steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Jako.
Hively dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Jako. That did some damage!

Sloppy strikes from Hively. Those never looked like landing.
Hively avoids the head kick by Jako.
Jako ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Jako moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Buster Hively is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hively throws a lazy right hand but Jako sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Jako misses with a few strikes there.
Hively lands a nice shot that snaps Jako's head back.
Jako tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Hively manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Jako jabbing away but nothing is landing.
An attempted straight right counter from Hively misses the target.
Jako throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Hively checks the leg kick nicely there.
A little feinted left hand from Hively on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Jako slips under a jab from Hively.
Jako throws a solid leg kick but Hively takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Jako.
An attempted straight right counter from Hively misses the target.
Jako swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Hively throws a sloppy head kick and Jako moves out of range easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hively ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Hively buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Buster Hively will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Jako takes a swing at Hively's ribcage but misses.
Hively's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Jako connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Hively scrambles back to his feet.
Jako throws a right and a left that both miss.
Jako misses with a left hand
and Hively counters with a one-two to the body.
Jako swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Hively counters with a three punch combo that has Jako backing up. Jako nods at Hively to acknowledge the strikes.
Hively swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Khru Jako seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jako darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Jako throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hively.
It looked like Hively wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Hively scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Jako doesn't seem bothered though.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hively fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Jako throws a head kick that misses.
Jako throws a sloppy head kick and Hively moves out of range easily.
Hively fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Jako looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Hively throws a nice outside leg kick.
Jako fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hively manages to avoid it.
It looked like Hively wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Jako throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Hively cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Hively keeps the fight on the outside.
Hively avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Jako has closed the distance and engaged Hively in a clinch.
Hively wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Jako has Hively pressed against the ropes, preventing Hively from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Jako blocking some punches.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Jako.
Hively scores with a nice hook to the head.
Jako creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Hively's defenses.
Jako tries to throw a body punch but Hively avoids it by throwing Jako back against the ropes.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Jako breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Khru Jako is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Jako throws an off balance right hand
and Hively counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Hively moves out of range of the strikes.
Hively lands an overhand right.
Jako pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Hively lands a high kick!

Khru Jako has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Buster Hively is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
A right handed body shot lands from Jako.
Hively lands a right hand.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Buster Hively.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hively, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
