Coming up we have a heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Walter Sobchak (ranked 21552 p4p, 733 weight class) and William Volkov (ranked 4593 p4p, 452 weight class). Sobchak kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In). The crowd seem to be enjoying Volkov's choice of entrance music: Parkway Drive - Dark Days. Walter Sobchak has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Walter Sobchak! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, William Volkov! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Eddie Farnsworth and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sobchak lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
It looks like William Volkov has been cut. Sobchak ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Sobchak throws a head kick that misses. Sobchak slips under a jab. Sobchak uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Volkov.
Volkov swings and misses with a shot to the body and Sobchak counters with a stiff right hand. Volkov misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sobchak.
Volkov swings for the body but Sobchak moves out of range.
Sobchak throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Sobchak walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Sobchak swings widly with a right hand
and Volkov counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. The fighters circle momentarily. Volkov darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Volkov walks into a jab. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The fight stays on the outside here - Sobchak looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Volkov looks to land a right hand but Sobchak moved out of range. Volkov misses with an uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sobchak plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Volkov just misses with a punch to the body.

And Sobchak counters with a quick kick to the body but Volkov blocks it. Sobchak scores with a kick to the body.
Volkov displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Sobchak throws out the jab. Volkov comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Sobchak throws a push kick but Volkov slaps the foot to one side. Sobchak has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Volkov pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Sobchak stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Volkov tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Sobchak scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Volkov lands a two punch combo.
It looks like Walter Sobchak has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Volkov on the wrong end of a nice jab. Sobchak connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Volkov takes one to the side of the head.
Jab, jab by Volkov - just one landing. Sobchak shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Volkov tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sobchak was well out of range. Poor timing from Volkov. Volkov throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Sobchak seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Donk. Sobchak catches Volkov right on the button with a cross. Volkov fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sobchak manages to avoid it. A shot to the liver by Volkov. Beautiful body shot. An inside leg kick lands from Sobchak. Sobchak tries to close the distance and clinch but Volkov swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Volkov is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Sobchak rather than just go for the knockout. A big left from Volkov misses. Sobchak is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Volkov ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sobchak moves away. Sobchak buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Sobchak is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Volkov lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Volkov misses the shot to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Volkov throws an overhand right that lands on Sobchak's shoulder, as Sobchak tries to avoid the shot. Sobchak with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Volkov takes a swing at Sobchak's ribcage but misses. Jab, jab by Sobchak - just one landing. Volkov misses with an uppercut. Sobchak saw that one coming. And Sobchak counters with a quick kick to the body but Volkov blocks it. Volkov throws out a loose jab but Sobchak uses good head movement to avoid it. Sobchak looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit. Sobchak takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Both fighters circling a little - Sobchak finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Sobchak moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Sobchak scores with a kick to the midsection. Volkov is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Sobchak. Sobchak feints and then cracks Volkov's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Volkov down. Sobchak displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Volkov throws out the jab. A solid body kick from Sobchak.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Volkov stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Sobchak. Sobchak is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. That kick from Sobchak tenderised Volkov's leg. Volkov is trying to keep his angry face on. Sobchak throws a head kick but Volkov moves out of range.
A countering left hand to the body from Volkov misses. Volkov looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Volkov just misses with a punch to the body.
Volkov fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sobchak manages to avoid it. Sobchak tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Volkov misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sobchak.
Sobchak throws a nice outside leg kick. Volkov fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sobchak, pushing him back against the ropes. Volkov is trying to break the clinch but Sobchak is controlling him. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Volkov wants to break free but Sobchak has control.
Volkov scores with a hook to the body. Sobchak is breathing heavily. Volkov can't find room to land a body shot as Sobchak controls the action.
Sobchak lands with a right to the head. Volkov's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Walter Sobchak will probably get the nod. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Sobchak counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Sobchak tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Volkov manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Volkov! But no joy. Volkov looks to score with a jab to the body but Sobchak is just out of range. Sobchak closes the distance and pushes Volkov back into the ropes. Sobchak lands an uppercut. Sobchak lands with a short shot to the head. Sobchak blocks a punch to the side of the head.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Volkov. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Volkov misses with a punch to the body.
Sobchak pushes Volkov back against the ropes and lands a hook to the side of the head. Sobchak misses with a hook from the clinch. Sobchak tries to throw a body punch but Volkov avoids it by throwing Sobchak back against the ropes. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Volkov. Sobchak works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Sobchak throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Volkovs head.
That's one minute gone in the round. A frustrated look appears on Volkov's face as he tries to break the clinch. Volkov misses with a hook from the clinch. Sobchak lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Sobchak lands with a short head shot on the inside. Volkov is breathing heavily. Sobchak lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Volkov or not. Sobchak lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Volkov is rocked! Sobchak gets through Volkov's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Volkov is still on wobbly legs! Can Sobchak finish him? Sobchak is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Volkov can do to turn this around? Sobchak is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Sobchak presses Volkov against the ropes and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Volkov misses with a hook to the ribs.
With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Sobchak creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Sobchak drops Volkov with a massive uppercut from the clinch! Oh my word, Volkov is out cold! What a knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:41 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Walter Sobchak! Walter Sobchak is the new heavyweight champion! Walter Sobchak decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
