PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight kickboxing rules bout between Sam Spencer (ranked 24101 p4p, 714 weight class) and Shamil Zavurov (ranked 9023 p4p, 658 weight class). Zavurov comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Deftones - Xenon kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spencer throws a low kick, looking for Zavurov's leg but Zavurov calmly moves out of range.
Spencer misses with a right hand
and Zavurov counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Zavurov tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Spencer was well out of range. Poor timing from Zavurov.

Spencer's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Spencer duly obliges.
Zavurov takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Zavurov stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Spencer.

and Zavurov counters with a nice leg kick.
Spencer walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Zavurov on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Sam Spencer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Spencer lands with a right, followed by a left to the temple and Zavurov goes down! The ref sends Spencer to a neutral corner so he can begin the count. 3,4,5,6 and Zavurov is back to his feet. He seems a little groggy but the referee thinks he's OK to continue, so we're back to the action!

Zavurov feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Spencers jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Zavurov displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Spencer throws out the jab.
A little jabbing left from Zavurov on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Zavurov appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.

Spencer walks straight into devastating uppercut and drops to the floor, clearly wobbled! Can he beat the count? 4,5,6,7... he's up! And he's down again! The ref steps in and calls an end to the fight! What a punch that was!
