Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jonathan Latendresse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe dirt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Latendresse comes to the cage accompanied by I Gotta Feeling. Jonathan Latendresse has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jonathan Latendresse!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joe dirt!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Steve Smith and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Latendresse slips a jab and a cross from dirt.
Jeez, both these guys look absolutely knackered already, that's not a good sign!
dirt tries to clinch there but Latendresse circles away.

and Latendresse counters with a single leg into guard. dirt didn't expect that.
dirt is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Latendresse is controlling him.

Latendresse gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
dirt closes the distance looking to clinch

and Latendresse counters by clinching up.

Latendresse has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but dirt regains guard immediately.
Latendresse wants to pass the guard but dirt is keeping the position.

dirt keeping moving, preventing Latendresse from controlling successfully.
Latendresse is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Latendresse postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Latendresse wants to control from the top but dirt keeps moving.

Latendresse gets to his feet - dirt follows without any prompting.

dirt has Latendresse pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Latendresse manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
dirt is trying to break the clinch but Latendresse has him pressed against the cage.

Latendresse wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Latendresse wants to get back to striking at distance but dirt won't allow it.
dirt goes for a takedown in the clinch but Latendresse prevents it.
Jonathan Latendresse has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe dirt.

Latendresse decides to take the fight back to the feet.

dirt closes the distance looking to clinch

and Latendresse counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Latendresse has had enough of the clinch but dirt keeps him there for the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


dirt throws a right and a left that both miss.
Joe dirt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Latendresse closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Latendresse breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
dirt will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
dirt throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
dirt tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Latendresse holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Latendresse wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but dirt has him pressed against the cage.
dirt is working for takedown but Latendresse is calmly controlling the position for now.
dirt is trying to break free.

Latendresse lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
dirt pushes Latendresse off looking to stand but Latendresse dives back in and keeps control.
Latendresse has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Latendresse is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Latendresse really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Latendresse lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
dirt is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Latendresse scores with a couple of nice shots.

Latendresse is working for a kimura but dirt is defending it quite comfortably.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Latendresse decides to stand up.
dirt looks to land a combination. Latendresse sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
dirt rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Latendresse moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Latendresse closes the distance and clinches.

Latendresse gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Latendresse wants to control but dirt is keeping him busy.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
dirt is in trouble now - Latendresse has advanced to mount!
Latendresse can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as dirt is looking to escape.
Latendresse looking to finish dirt with some ground and pound. This is bad for dirt!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
dirt is bucking up trying to escape but Latendresse cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Latendresse swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and dirt is now in Latendresse's guard. A big mistake from Latendresse there, giving up the dominant position!
Latendresse not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


dirt throws a nice looking combination but Latendresse bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A nice leg kick lands there from Latendresse.

Latendresse decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Latendresse connects with a nice short shot to dirt's temple.
Latendresse throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Latendresse is sneakily working for an arm triangle but dirt sees it coming and defends easily.
Latendresse working over dirt with some ground and pound. dirt looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Latendresse lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Latendresse with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Latendresse escapes and gets back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
dirt clinches but Latendresse breaks the clinch

and Latendresse counters with a nice double leg into side control. dirt won't be happy with that.

Latendresse wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by dirt, who protects the arm well.

Latendresse has an Americana. dirt didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Latendresse is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Latendresse hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Jonathan Latendresse!
