Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marcin Vanna (ranked 4353 p4p, 447 weight class) and Tony Miyazaki (ranked 21611 p4p, 716 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Marcin Vanna!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tony Miyazaki!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Matti Vanhoillinen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vanna shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Miyazaki defends it nicely.
Vanna looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Vanna closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Vanna lands in his opponent's guard.
Vanna tries to free his leg and advance position but Miyazaki is retaining full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Miyazaki has a closed guard, preventing Vanna from standing up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Vanna trying to control but Miyazaki is working from the bottom.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Vanna looking to sit in guard and control but Miyazaki gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Miyazaki is in close to Vanna's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Miyazaki is working Vanna over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vanna might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Miyazaki is trying to control. Vanna wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Miyazaki moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Vanna has worked his arm free - good work by Vanna!
Vanna is looking for a sweep.
Vanna is not content to let Miyazaki control the position.

Vanna tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Vanna sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Miyazaki is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Miyazaki working over Vanna with some ground and pound. Vanna looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Tony Miyazaki dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Vanna is trying to stall.
Miyazaki manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Miyazaki has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Vanna uses from the top position.

Vanna wants to control from the top but Miyazaki keeps moving.

Miyazaki is looking to stand up but Vanna isn't so interested in that idea.
Miyazaki bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Vanna's guard.

Miyazaki drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Miyazaki jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Vanna pulls Miyazaki in close to his closed guard and prevents Miyazaki from doing any damage or advancing position.

Vanna working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Miyazaki doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Miyazaki manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Vanna closes the distance and clinches up with Miyazaki, looking for a takedown. Vanna pushes Miyazaki against the cage but Miyazaki circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Miyazaki feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Miyazaki has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tony Miyazaki showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Vanna shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Miyazaki but Miyazaki pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Miyazaki is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Miyazaki bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Miyazaki decides to stand back up. Miyazaki steps back and let's Vanna get back to his feet.

Miyazaki has his feet on Vanna's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Vanna shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Miyazaki sprawls well. Miyazaki wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Vanna gets slowly back to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Miyazaki gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Miyazaki manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Marcin Vanna has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Vanna is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Tony Miyazaki is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Vanna has gone for a leg lock! Miyazaki slips out almost immediately though and dives into Vanna's guard.

Tony Miyazaki comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Miyazaki has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
