Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Konstantin Uszatov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jeff Diaz! The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Arvi Lind and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A momentary lapse in concentration from Uszatov enables Diaz to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Uszatov manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Diaz preventing the sweep. Diaz postures up.
Diaz working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Uszatov is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Diaz trying to control the position from guard on top but Uszatov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Uszatov is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Diaz thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Diaz with a nice head shot there.
It looks like Konstantin Uszatov has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Diaz postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Diaz throws a big right hand that misses. Uszatov is looking for a triangle but Diaz pushes his legs off easily.
Diaz throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Uszatov works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Diaz thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Diaz postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Uszatov wants to sweep here but Diaz controlling him for the moment.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Uszatov tries for a takedown but Diaz circles away easily and Diaz counters with a series of strikes. Uszatov will be more careful next time no doubt. No luck for Uszatov with that takedown attempt. Uszatov tries for a takedown but Diaz sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Konstantin Uszatov. That's going to take a lot out of him. Uszatov gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Diaz to score an easy takedown into full guard. Diaz postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Konstantin Uszatov's cut is getting worse. Uszatov utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Diaz trying to control the position from guard on top but Uszatov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Uszatov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Diaz on the ground. Uszatov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diaz scoring with punches to the head and body. Diaz trying to control the position from guard on top but Uszatov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Uszatov avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Diaz wants to control from the top but Uszatov keeps moving. Diaz controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Diaz in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Diaz throwing strikes from guard but Uszatov blocks nicely. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Diaz working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Uszatov's head. Diaz throws a big right hand that misses. Diaz trying to control but Uszatov is working from the bottom. Diaz throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Uszatov works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Diaz throwing strikes but missing. Diaz pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Uszatov is keeping the position for now. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jeff Diaz dominated that round. The cut man is working on Konstantin Uszatov's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Uszatov shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Diaz as he jumps to the side. Diaz shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Uszatov manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Uszatov keeping full guard, as Diaz tries to pass. Diaz is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Diaz postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Uszatov is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Diaz, into his guard.
Diaz has been the more effective fighter overall so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Uszatov got a little sloppy there for a moment and Diaz has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Uszatov has managed to get both his arms back between Diaz's legs - danger averted.
That's one minute gone in the round. Uszatov throwing strikes but missing. Diaz is looking to cinch up a triangle. Uszatov throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Diaz's body to avoid the submission. Diaz has instead reached around Uszatov's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Diaz arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Jeff Diaz!
