Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eric Henderson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dead Kennedy! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Ian Loll and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Henderson throws a head kick that misses. Henderson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kennedy throws a combination. Henderson tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Kennedy closes the distance and clinches up with Henderson, looking for a takedown. Kennedy pushes Henderson against the cage but Henderson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Henderson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Henderson throws a sloppy head kick and Kennedy moves out of range easily. Henderson clinches with his opponent.
Kennedy has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Henderson clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Kennedy is persistently looking for the submission but Henderson is defending it well.
Kennedy is looking to control Henderson but Henderson is wriggling around and keeping busy. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kennedy missing with punches from the back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kennedy wants to control but Henderson manages to buck him off and is now in Kennedy's guard! Nice work there by Henderson! Kennedy wants to sweep here but Henderson controlling him for the moment. Henderson wants to stand but Kennedy has a closed guard, so he can't escape. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Kennedy closes the distance and clinches up with Henderson, looking for a takedown. Kennedy pushes Henderson against the cage but Henderson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Kennedy avoids the head kick by Henderson.
Eric Henderson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kennedy. Eric Henderson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dead Kennedy. Henderson pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Kennedy decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Henderson regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Kennedy. Kennedy drops back, looking for a kneebar! Henderson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Henderson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Henderson! Kennedy looks gassed! Kennedy is trying to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Henderson decides to stand back up. Henderson steps back and let's Kennedy get back to his feet. Henderson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. The fight stays on the outside here - Kennedy looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Henderson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Henderson throws a sloppy head kick and Kennedy counters by clinching up. Kennedy is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Henderson pulls him back up using the underhooks. Henderson looking to throw knees to the head but Kennedy is blocking nicely.

Kennedy jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Henderson walks away with a smile on his face. Kennedy gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Kennedy darts in trying to clinch and Henderson counters with a head kick. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Eric Henderson will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Henderson manages to work his way to half guard, despite Kennedy's best efforts. Kennedy is stalling here. Henderson is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Kennedy seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Henderson has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Kennedy is looking to regain half guard here but Henderson keeps moving and retains side control.

Henderson throws a head kick that misses and Kennedy counters with a shoot takedown. Henderson fights it but they end up in guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Henderson pushes Kennedy off and gets back to his feet.

Kennedy wants to hit a switch here but Henderson passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Kennedy there!

A close second round but Dead Kennedy will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Kennedy takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Henderson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
