Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gen Gen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Hart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mike Hart will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gen Gen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Hart! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Ian Loll and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hart throws a series of punches but Gen moves out of range. Hart shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Hart throws a series of punches but Gen avoids them all with ease. Hart looks for a takedown but Gen sprawls well. Hart shoots in looking for a takedown. Gen tries to sprawl out of it but Hart keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gen manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Gen Gen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Hart. Hart shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Gen bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Gen tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gen has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Gen lands some shots froms side control. Gen connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Hart some visible discomfort.
Gen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gen is looking to take a break and control but Hart is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Hart struggling a bit here. Gen tries for a kimura but Hart is defending well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gen tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. That's two minutes gone in the round. Gen slows the pace down. Gen is breathing heavily. Gen working the body and head with strikes. Gen working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Hart is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Gen asserts his dominance and retains side control. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Gen lands some shots froms side control. Hart is trying to get back to his feet. Gen is looking to take a break and control but Hart is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Gen looks up at the clock and then as Hart takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Gen smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hart wants to get back to his feet. Gen is trying to get an arm triangle but Hart is defending well. Hart throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land. Hart manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Hart wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gen keeps working. Hart tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Gen regains full guard. Nicely done. Hart postures up in Gen's guard and throws a big left but Gen blocks it. Gen looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Gen holds on and takes a little breather.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hart missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Hart gets to his feet. Gen looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Gen dodges the punch combination from Hart.
Hart misses with a double jab.
Hart throws a right hand that Gen ducks under and follows up with a left that Gen also avoids with ease. Hart wants to clinch up but Gen keeps it at a distance. Gen fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hart sprawls well initially but Gen persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Hart is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Gen scores with a couple of nice shots. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gen Gen dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Hart misses with a takedown and Gen counters with a takedown into side control. Gen scoring with punches from side control. Hart tries to escape but Gen is in control. Hart wants to control but Gen postures up. Gen cracks Hart with an elbow. That is naaassty. Gen cracks Hart with an elbow. That is naaassty. Gen is trying to get an arm triangle but Hart is defending well. Gen lands a few punches from side control. Gen has hold of Hart's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Hart tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Gen cranks the arm and Hart screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Hart, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:03 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Gen Gen!
