Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ritchie Souza (ranked 3727 p4p, 402 weight class) and Kendo Hirigushi (ranked 2372 p4p, 264 weight class). Souza comes to the cage accompanied by Gwen Stefani-Luxurious. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ritchie Souza! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Kendo Hirigushi! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hirigushi changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Souza walks into a left hand. Souza has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Souza misses with a hook to the body
letting Hirigushi counter with a right hand. Nice shot lands for Souza. Hirigushi avoids the body shot from Souza.
Hirigushi uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Souza. Souza misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hirigushi throws out a counter right but Souza avoids it with no problem. Souza moves into range and connects with a jab. Souza throws a sloppy head kick and Hirigushi counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Souza throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Souza darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hirigushi looks like he's trying to stand up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hirigushi is holding on to half guard well. Hirigushi is looking to escape. Souza works his way into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hirigushi is pushing Souza's head away, looking to escape. Souza manages to hold on to the position though. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hirigushi can do anything to dispel that myth. Souza tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Hirigushi wants to control but Souza postures up. Hirigushi is trying to stand and escape here. He's got onto all fours but that's just let Souza take his back! Uh oh - Souza has got a rear naked choke here! Hirigushi is forced to tap! It's all over! One monent is all it takes in this sport!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Ritchie Souza! Ritchie Souza is the new lightweight champion! Ritchie Souza took some time post fight to say the following; 'i'm not surprised mother fuckers, Tap, snap or Nap bitches...'.
