Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Preacher! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jonny Johnson! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Alyssa Summers and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Preacher leaves Johnson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Johnson lands a head kick!
Johnson is looking to clinch. Preacher bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Preacher working the strikes but Johnson uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Preacher wants to free his trapped foot but Johnson is holding on for dear life with his legs. Johnson tries to roll over but Preacher keeps him under control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Preacher tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Johnson swivels and escapes. Jonny Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Preacher fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Johnson to the ground. Preacher is now in Johnson's guard. Preacher pushes down on Johnson's leg and manages to get into half guard. Preacher takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Preacher throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Preacher looks to land a strike but Johnson avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Preacher postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Preacher will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Johnson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Preacher's guard. Nice move by Johnson! Johnson won't allow Preacher to sweep him here.

Johnson is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Preacher. Preacher tries to bench press Johnson off him but Johnson keeps the position. Preacher can't do much from the bottom here. Johnson lands some shots froms side control. Johnson just content to control the position. Johnson scores with punches from side control. Preacher is looking for a sweep. Preacher regains half guard. Preacher looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Preacher gets full guard. Johnson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Preacher has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Johnson has managed to get both his arms back between Preacher's legs - danger averted. Preacher has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Johnson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Johnson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Johnson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Preacher escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Johnson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Johnson scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Preacher tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson is in the full mount, landing strikes. Johnson pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Johnson prevents Preacher from getting the reversal. Johnson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Preacher can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Johnson reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Johnson taps out! Nice BJJ there by Preacher!
