Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Moshe Hopper! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nazharif Haikal! The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Steve Erwin and Ron Honeybunn.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Haikal gets the takedown into side control. Hopper throws Haikal to one side and escapes! Haikal closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Hopper's guard. Hopper bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Haikal's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Haikal is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Hopper lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Hopper slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Haikal wants to stand up but Hopper is controlling him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hopper wants to get up but he can't break Haikal's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Hopper thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Hopper stands up and waves to Haikal to follow him. Hopper really is a fat lump. Haikal throws a leg kick that is checked and Hopper counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Haikal thinking. Haikal scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Haikal doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Haikal manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Hopper trying to keep a closed guard but Haikal is proving a slippery customer.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Haikal trying to control the position from guard on top but Hopper is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Haikal must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Hopper is looking to stand up but Haikal isn't so interested in that idea. Hopper wants to sweep but no luck. Hopper keeping moving, preventing Haikal from controlling successfully. Hopper controls Haikal momentarily but Haikal frees himself.

Hopper throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Haikal throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hopper works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Haikal won't allow Hopper to get back to his feet. Hopper manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Haikal manages to get himself to full guard.

It looks like Moshe Hopper has been cut. Haikal moves into the clinch. Haikal connects with a knee to the head.
Hopper breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Haikal shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Hopper eats them both and turns towards Haikal to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Hopper is rocked! Haikal darts in and clinches Hopper up against the cage. Oh Hopper is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Hopper being controlled against the cage. Haikal breaks the clinch.
Haikal grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Hopper takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Haikal cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!
